Today is March 17. On this day in 1920, a heroic person named Mujib was born in the village of Tungipara in Gopalganj subdivision of Faridpur district in the then East Bengal province of the Indian subcontinent to liberate the chained Bengalis for thousands of years. His father's name is Sheikh Lutfar Rahman and his mother's name is Saira Khatun. Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Was the Third Child of a Family of Four Dogsters and 2 Sons. The child named 'Khoka', who was born in the village of Ajopara in Tungipara on that day, later became the guide for the liberation of the oppressed Bengali nation. Due to his deep political wisdom, self-sacrifice and extraordinary affection for all the people, Bangabandhu had become the undisputed leader of the Bengali nation.
Mujib developed leadership qualities from his school days. When he was a teenager, he became involved in active politics. Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was arrested and imprisoned for the first time for joining the anti-British movement while studying in the eighth grade at the Mission School in Gopalganj. From then on, the journey of Bangabandhu's lifelong struggle began.
In politics, he was a devoted follower of Hussain Shaheed Suhrawardy who was one of the great leaders of Bangladesh at that time. In the 1946 general election, the Muslim League entrusted Sheikh Mujib with the responsibility of campaigning for the party candidates in the Faridpur district. Bangabandhu along with his colleagues formed Chhatra League (Students League)in 1948 and later Awami League in 1949. In 1947, after the partition and independence movement, the language movement of 1952, the united front election of 1954, the education movement of 1962, the six-point movement of 1966, the mass uprising of 1969, Bangabandhu in the historic election of '1970. Sheikh Mujibur Rahman became the undisputed leader of the Bengali nation.
Bangabandhu's name has always shined in every chapter of the liberation struggle of Bangladesh. He officially declared the independence of Bangladesh before being arrested by the Pakistani invaders in the early hours of March 26, 1971. Earlier, on March 7, 1971, Mujib delivered his historic speech to a huge crowd of one million people at the Racecourse Ground, which marked a turning point in the history of the Bengali nation.
Bangladesh became independent after a long struggle of 9 months under the direction of Bangabandhu. He was released from prison in Pakistan and returned to the country. Began a new struggle for economic liberation. When war-torn Bangladesh began to rise to the occasion under his leadership, inhuman darkness descended on the history of the country. On the black night of 15 August 1975, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and his family were killed by the traitors.
A lot is things lost in the whirl of time. The only exception to this lost rule is some memories, a few names. The name Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman is one of that names. As long as Bangladesh exists, along with the contribution of this best person of Bengali for thousands of years, the date of his birth will also be remembered forever in the vibrancy of Bengali life. Today is his 102Th birthday. I want to say, "HAPPY BIRTHDAY THE REAL HERO OF BANGLADESH". You will remain in our hearts forever.
