Just another walk.....
This is another area of the Donau-Auen National Park and we made this walk last Sunday. This adventure had been part of us trying to discover the new area we live in. It is about a 2 Km walk from home. It is so green and this part of the Lobau has a densely populated community of home owners. I thought how lucky they are to be living near the National Park.
The below image shows the National Park in green along the Danube River (in blue)... the swamps/lagoons we were visiting are those thinner strips.
Wellness Starts here...
The moment we arrived in the area, we already felt the wellness of body and mind despite the long walk. A lot of the locals come here to bike and this is a fantastic place to bike since the city admins have a very good forest governance that made sure the visitors follow the forest regulations.
"No Littering" ordinance....
The whole of the Park is a strict "No littering" area and the locals are very disciplined to obey the regulation of waste segregation.
By simply roaming around, one can feel the beauty of nature and that is all there is to it... We saw berries in abundance that are so colorful, but I am not sure whether they are edible as nobody is picking them.
We stop by and sit at the edge of the bridge so the leg muscles could relax for a while. Part of the water is clear and we could see the fishes in clusters having the ground as camouflage as the fishes have the same color as the stones.
Do you see the fishes...?
This is the untouched and unspoiled nature of Lobau which has been there since ages. The surrounding fields are being used by farmers to grow crops.
The next time we visit the Park, we will do some biking. The Park is around 38 Km long and close to the borders of Slovakia. I guess we will simply bike in the pathways, stop-by a bit and feel the good vibes the Park has to offer. The cold days will soon begin and it´s a good time to sweat it all out as the temperatures are milder than in Summer.
Hope you have enjoyed the tour, til next time...
Keep safe everyone!
