In Indo-Bangla border four villages in meghalaya in East Janitia Hills want to be part of Bangladesh with about 5000+ population of them. They have asked their government to give away their four villages and their population to bangladesh if the government is not willing to construct their roads.
The absence of the proper roads and mobile connectivity and proper medical facilities have crippled the lives of more then 5000 people and it has came at the stake of them to depend on the government of bangladesh if the government of them is not interested on them. These villages are located in East Jaintia Hills district, which is about 200km away from Meghalaya's capital shillong.
“ It is clear that the lives of the border population do not matter at all to our Government and we are only being used to vote in the elections. If the government really considers our problems as Indians and is serious about our problems, the Government should immediately take steps for the road problem and take immediate measures to ease the road problem failing which the people will have no choice but to take extreme steps,” Speaker of the four villages Kynjaimon Amse said in a statement.
“The four villages have also decided to write to the Government of Bangladesh to request for construction of the road for us since the Government of India and Government of Meghalaya have failed to understand our problems,” he said.
He also said that the matter was also taken to the national human rights and to the meghalaya High court but both of them have been indifferent to the people of these people.
