Every one of us is familiar with the concept of telemedicine. During covid time, we got to see its practice more and more; now, it's growing slowly and steadily. A better experience is all it takes to gain trust. Still, we may not rely on this concept for our critical diseases, but general ones can be solved through this easily. I will share an amazing experience today.
DocTime is a growing telehealth service in my country, Bangladesh. I don't know exactly if there is more, but I have encountered DocTime's marketing ads a lot and have used the service multiple times.
Thanks to the Almighty, he hadn't given me any critical disease so far, and I wished to be in His blessing. General diseases come and go; it's impossible to stay immune to all of these.
I am quite lazy, so once, I suffered from minor sickness, and my mother pushed me to go to see a doctor for medication. I didn't want to go because of laziness, and I know I will be fine soon as it was not a serious health issue(to me). Still, she was insisting on medication, and I was postponing. Later, I stalked the DocTime app for a few minutes and saw so many registered general physicians as well as specialized doctors available for remote consultation. Also, the fees were affordable; you can go from cheap to high, and a few were really offering a very affordable fee.
My experience with my doctor was good; he gave me enough time to listen and prescribed me accordingly. I got well pretty fast, Alhamdulillah. The second experience was good as well. I was satisfied.
This time, I made my mother try it. She was never comfortable with these. She is always in favor of face-to-face consultation. But somehow, I managed to get her to sit in front of the camera. Luckily, the doctor who was there for her was a great person; I was right behind her to assist, so I witnessed the whole conversation. Before the video call, there needed to submit a short description of the sickness and also an option to add photos. So I attached previous reports of her related to today's sickness. He went through each and every report I had attached before starting the call, heard her present situation, and started explaining. Trust me, he was very cooperative and took a long time to make her understand a few things that he instructed. He did not just instruct but also explained the reason behind them so that she may know what's the value of that practice and what might occur if she stops. He was there for almost forty minutes plus to explain and listened to her patiently.
My mother messed up with some of the instructions from her previous doctor, and this time, he explained them so nicely that she was super impressed. I think the mutual conversions between the doctor and patient play a vital role in the overall treatment; this time, it was top-notch.
I know that not every time we can depend on these virtual services, we need to go for physical tests and stuff, but we can with the ones where conversations and photos can explain the situation properly, and the doctor understands best what to do next. Even if we can have sessions for discussion, isn't it better to have a specialized doctor within our reach to have a conversation about our problems? They can better instruct on what to do and what not to do. The prescription they provided was well explained, not just the names, but also a few instructions, which was helpful as we often need to remember what the doctors tell us for a specific medicine in the middle of many.
Well, overall, It was a great experience. Their consultation, prescription, and also does home delivery services of those prescribed medicines, and I have found them a little bit cheaper than the prices I had brought for, lol. Also, the additional discounts will come into play if you look around.
So I would say I really liked their services, my gateway to the telemedicine concept, and I may go for them again if I need to.
