This morning I went to Bashundhara City Shopping Complex to buying the stylish back cover and glass paper of my brand new Android phone. I going there with my friend. And the interesting fact is I was the first customer of that shop☺.
I came back on foot. Now I am write about the two sculptures that I have seen on the way.
First I got the new added (13 June 2018) sculpture ' Janani o Gorbito Bornomala' by Mrinal Haque near BTCL(Bangladesh Telecommunications Company Limited) building, Shahbagh, Dhaka.
Which bears the memory of EKUSH. But the sad part of this new added sculpture is, It can be seen that the child is a martyr in the mother's lap. But the expression on the mother's face does not indicate tears or anger. If you don't pay attention, it may seem that the mother of the martyr has a smile on her face.
To go, Few minutes later I found another recent added (Date 8 February 2015) sculpture . Which name Rajoshik sculpture, it’s I found on Mintoo Road, Dhaka. Rajoshik is placed in front of Ruposhi Bangla Hotel (Sheraton).
In this sculpture, two horses are pulling a cart. The coachman is sitting in the front, a guard in the back of the car. And in the car is Nawab Salimullah, who has gone out with his family to see the situation in the city. But it doesn't look like there's a Nawab sitting inside.
Whatever I think, Culture cannot be promoted with such unspoken or meaningless sculptures. It is important to have a committee to assist in the selection of the sculpture.
I agree. Just as there are some good sculptures made in the capital before, there are also many ugly sculptures that suddenly sprouted. The government should take initiative to replace these. Even if a person wants to do any sculpture for free before doing it, it is important that the work be done through a committee of art experts. Otherwise, these things will continue to be created and one day we will see that there are some random sculptures without artless culture.
There are small pillars with different road names or our martyrs. But you will not find them in such a position. We also need to think about how to present the ones that have already been created for the next generation.
