Color always play a vital role in the textile sector also, in the sector of food, printing, pharmaceutical and cosmetic. Most industrial process included coloring process and azo is certain for them. Certain azo could create dangerous staff but most of them are safe to use.
There are aromatic compounds in the azo dyes which helps to create strong and variety colors which is cheap & easy to produce as per requirements. As it could be produced easily the range of use is widely. The azo dyes are synthetic dyes formed by azo group which consists of two nitrogen atoms linked with each other. In the primeval times, azotes in French meant nitrogen and that is how the word 'azo' originated. Azo dyes are also known as azoic or nepthol dyes. The use of certain azo dyes in food could results certain reaction in human body including cancer. The dye itself not harmful but when you use with other things & the combination could be dangerous. Like we use chilly powder everyday and azo is present in it as coloring agent, if we use harmful cheap agent the product itself would be harmful for human body. Some Azo could cause hyperactivity in children body. There are many studies says azo could cause asthma & also could damage human immune system.
Fortunately, we do not consume huge amount of azo used in the food as the use of it in the food is very little against a certain quantity still as there is life threat several regularity bodies banned many dyes parmanently.
Similar way if we used these kind of harmful agent in the textile/leather product it would cause the similar damage to the human body.
