The National Flag Rules of 1972 were issued a year after the country became independent and was later amended in 2010.
Our flag is a matter of great pride that inspires the millions that fought for our freedom and yet the flags we see sold in the roads or on television always have something or the other wrong. Wrong colour and size can not and should not be tolerated. With this comes the question of how much respect we are showing to the country and the martyrs of the liberation war.
Rule 3 of the Rules, in the ‘Volume and Description’ section of the ‘Flag’, states that the ‘National Flag’ shall be bottle green and there shall be a red circle in the middle of a rectangular green of 10: 6 length and width. Furthermore, the red circle shall have a radius of one-fifth of the length of the flag. If the color percentage is corrected by CMYK or RGB method, then the risk of color error is completely eliminated. Finding a proper digital color for the flag remains of utmost importance.
