So yesterday I took the bold step of starting my ECA process after years of planning and not executing. The major task for me was raising the money required to initiate the process.
Fundamentally I have some little money now, thanks to the bull run and some investment to finance my immigration process but the herculean task was starting.
For those who have ever ventured traveling, especially from this part of the world, you guys can attest to the huge financial commitment required. Oftentimes this is a deterrent for most people.
I took the bold step of getting my passport two years ago and nothing concrete has been done ever since until yesterday.
I started by creating a WES account and filling in my credentials. Then I found a situation payment service that would allow me to pay for my ECA and I have been stashing a couple of dollars. Hopefully, by next week, I should have the complete amount I need.
Now the whole point of this story is to show how easy things are when you take actionable steps towards your dreams and goals. For many of us, we love to live in our heads, never getting past the planning stage.
It often takes a lot of courage to take the first step out of the comfort of your mind into the uncertain planes of the world. It is the biggest threat to our dreams and goals because in those moments of uncertainty we can lose it all.
So many would rather nurse their dreams. They would rather build a perfect world in their mind than try. There is no reason to fear failure when you don't try, and when people ask why you never did, you can come up with the perfect excuse.
I am all about taking actionable steps towards your goal. I believe if you want something then you have to try getting it. Also, I have discovered that things aren't so difficult when you try--not think but doing things.
When you breakdown a problem into smaller compartments and tackle each part meticulously you tend to achieve greater results than someone who tries to do the same thing but on a broader scale.
So try this out today. Think about the biggest task you want to complete and start from the most basic thing and move upward from there. It isn't that difficult but I would rather you don't take my word and prove this theory for yourself. Try.
I hope you found this useful. Cheers!
