Greetings
I hope my fellow Hivers are doing well; I'm back with another article later today. Today, however, things would be a little different. My sweetheart led me to the neighborhood of Dhaka Cantonment, where she was raised. I'm not much of a traveler, but everything is more fun with the proper person at your side; it can be a buddy or someone you love.
The Day
I awoke late as usual while she waited for me on the road, but my miss was stubborn enough to come to my house or call me. I rushed to her ASAP, got scolded for being late, and started our journey from the Jashimuddin area. Somehow, the traffic jam was nearly there that day. Such a blessing, we dropped around the ECB Chattar and walked into the Cantonment area. She was pretty concerned that the guards would ask us why we were here at the check post. Voila, they didn't even bother to stop us.
Starting with
We were waiting for the bus because she wanted to take me to Cinderella CSD (a department store near the cantonment) to show me where she used to shop most of the time. We had less time to tour different areas because there was so much to see. There are numerous stunning mosques in the Cantonment region. The first one that drew my attention was the Old Air Head Quarter Jame Mosque, which was well designed and had an excellent opening. I didn't forget to get out my phone and shoot a few shots before departing 😅.
We got to witness these beautiful structures before reaching Cinderella CSD. I love big architectural projects; I came to Shenakunj before, but I didn't get to see this beautiful mosque back as it was nighttime. We went to CSD afterward. For the first time in two years, she showed me different ice creams, chocolates, and cookies she likes. Yes! That's what you get while dating a true introvert, hehe. After exploring CSD, she walked me to a foot-over bridge, and we chatted for quite some time while she explained why she took me there; I tell you what! We could really enjoy some ice-creams there, but it's the month of Ramadan, and we both were fasting 😅; afterward, we boarded a rickshaw to her former residence. She really wanted to show me a house she admired there, and she was telling me how she is planning to buy a house like that in the future. We spotted the Cantonment Board Jaam'e Masjid on the way, another wonderful architectural icon sitting alongside B.N college; this location is tranquil and peaceful. I can see why she likes it here.
Finally, we arrived in the residential section of the neighborhood. You would need map awareness to comprehend where you are heading, just like any other residential area; otherwise, you would be mostly lost. To my astonishment, this woman I am dating had lived here ten years before and remembered different roads and where to find the house she was looking for; She never ceases to astound me.
She wasn't pleased to see the present situation of the house as her explanation was this house used to look like Japanese architectural standards inspired it. It was primarily dark-colored with gold accents. Now it seems like they have turned it just upside down. As we drove back home together, our little date was coming to a close. It was brief and to the point. Now that I think about it, I wouldn't mind going further afield with her or even with a couple of pals. Simply exploring different city regions could help us learn more about the city we live in. And mostly, it's the bond together which matters.
