Lucas and Eric were two men whose rivalry was well known in the underworld. Lucas hated Eric with every drop of blood in him while Eric on the other hand was clueless as to why Lucas hated him and wanted him dead. So Eric had located Lucas accountant and forced him to fake a meeting with Lucas. He was getting tired of looking over his shoulders because of one man and wanted to end all of it.
When Lucas arrived at the venue of the supposed meeting, Eric had stormed the place with his men. It was clear to Lucas that he was outnumbered so he ordered his men to stand down. The odds wasn’t in their favor at the moment but that could change any moment. Eric had walked up to Lucas and demanded to know what Lucas beef with him was. The man had looked at Eric with disgust before uttering the words “You killed my daughter.”
Eric had killed a lot of daughters in his line of business, but he was certain that Lucas daughter was never one of them. He always made a good research before killing anyone. So he said. “You’re mistaken Lucas. I didn’t kill your daughter, I never even knew you had one” Lucas wasn’t buying what he was saying but Eric continued. “And as a show of good faith, I will let you and your men go without being harmed” Eric stopped and waved at his men to clear the road. He knew Lucas didn’t believe him and he needed more than words to convince the mafia boss, so he gave him one of his phones.
“What for?” Lucas asked.
“Just in case I have information on who really killed your daughter.” Lucas took the phone but only because he was trying to get out of there alive. He wasn’t ready to die until Eric paid for his crime.
Lucas remembered receiving the corpse of his little princess twelve years ago at his safe house. She had been skinned alive and if not for the note left beside her corpse, he wouldn’t have been able to recognize her. The note had told him who was responsible for her death.
Eric watched them leave before getting into his car. He didn’t blame Lucas one bit, he would have done the same for his daughter. Unfortunately he hadn’t seen her for fifteen years and he was still searching for her.
Three months after that meeting with Lucas, Eric received a call from one of his men. They have found the girl he had been looking for and she wasn’t a little girl anymore. She worked as a waitress in a restaurant in an entirely different state. Eric had suspended almost everything just so he could have a chat with her. When he first saw her, she looked almost exactly as he thought she would and then he had managed to get closer to her and they became friends. He told her his name was Frank and he had just recently moved into the neighborhood. And within a month, Lisa and Eric became close. She saw him as the father she had always wanted, everything was going great.
But about a week after that, Eric’s phone rang. He was a little bit hesitant before answering the call. No one had that number, no one except for one person, Lucas.
“Well well well, you didn’t think I forgot about you, did ya?” Lucas asked over the phone.
“Nope I didn’t.”
“Well you see, this past few months I’ve been busy and so were you. I heard you’ve been spending some quality time with your daughter.” Lucas asked and heard Eric smirk. “Well not anymore because I have her” Lucas said and hung up the phone. He wish he was there to see the looks on Eric’s face but the moment the phone started ringing, he knew he didn’t have to see his face to know he had got him right where he wanted. He answered the phone “What?”
Eric and his men quickly rushed to the address Lucas had given to him over the phone. “You don’t understand, you can’t harm her.” Eric said the moment he got out of the car.
“And why not? You did the same to my daughter and she was just a little girl.”
“Well because that girl isn’t my daughter, she’s yours. Lisa is your daughter.”
