In the middle of the night, drowning in fever, trying hard to fall asleep, but my another companion headache can't let me in. It feels like your body is too tired to embrace the sleep. In this unbearable situation, I get the chance to doze off and blissfully, my mind takes me to the place where it is almost impossible for me to step in. It is the marshland in front of my balcony.
Here, the sun is almost easing off on the west bank of the sky. It did a pretty good job today, vaporised all the rainwater from the red mud. Walking down through the bush will be easy now. Sometimes the sunlight is getting blurred by the grey clouds but casting in the sky, I can predict that these clouds are not going to fall so easily. So I chose to move forward, but when I lean for my first step, I hesitate, man! Am I really heere? Suddenly I saw my nagging cat approaching me from behind. How could I think of my adventure where Dosshu won't be there! He started to give me the courage by guiding me through the grass, shrubs then trees.
For the breezy weather, the tall grasses make mystical rhythm with the winds. A bunch of crickets is their best to make a perfect orchestra in this nature. Sometimes, the birds are flipping hard to catch the dragonflies. After walking for some moments, I heard some knocking sound from a tree. After keeping a closed eye, found a woodpicker who is in search of a perfect spot where it can make a hollow for its family. A long-distance azan was coming through and the warm orange tinge of the sun ray was fading in the sky indicating dusk is coming.
A sunburnt countryman is seen from a distance, piling up the grass and making it the way to his home. And I followed my way where I could pass the night without being killed by any meat-eater beast. Oh, what I am thinking, we have killed our wildlife a long way before and I need to be quite fortunate enough to see any beast-like creature. So I get myself busy again in finding a place to stop. Some hawks are making their place at the top of a leafless tree. As the sun sets, the calm wind starts to blow again through the tree leaves. Dosshu is getting tired and halting every time he hears some noises from the grass. Instead of showing me the footsteps, now he is following mine. Have to admit, all cats are pussies.
Finally, I found a homely banyan tree that can be a good place for us. Hop on the tree with my cat and sigh with relief. By that time, it gets pitched dark where it becomes hard to see yourself. Dosshu started crawling to me and making a comfy zone in my lap. It's a dark fortnight so only thousands of stars are in the show for today. The sky looks so open and close that you could almost touch it. The dancing of the fireflies is making the scenario more mystical. Suddenly, a howling sound breaks the silence. From this dark, I can't spot the fox. Within a second, every partner ensures their presence by joining in the chorus. Now I start to shiver and the same goes for dosshu! Sweat starts running through my body and unexpectedly I find myself in the corner of my bed. I think my fever just released me for the night. Dosshu is also there, resting his head on my right foot. I felt relieved getting him beside. I'm promising, next time, we can fight back those foxes, just be on my side!
