Today's date is 16.12.21. If you are from another country then this day is common to you but as a Bengali, this day means a lot to us because it is our Victory Day. Today I have not come to tell you the history of Victory Day because if you are a Bengali then you know its history or you are not then you will find that on Google. Today I come here to share a story related to it.
I recently finished my varsity first-year exams. Just finished the writing part, the practical part is still left to take. Although the date of the practical test has not been announced yet, our teachers have started taking practical classes with us. As I'm a student of chemistry dependent our practical classes taken on the laboratory. Today we have just passed two practical classes. In these practical classes, teachers are showing how we participate in our upcoming practical tests.
Today, while I was testing salt ion detection in the laboratory, a sudden notice came. The notice was about the 16 December and our victory day occasion on our campus. Our teacher announced the notice, " All of you must be present in the department by 9 am tomorrow or your marks will be deducted from your practical exam. " Oh, really! What an announcement it is!
I know why they announced it, they announced it because many students would not have come to the department the next day if they had not said so. Their strategy is not bad at all. But I had a question in my mind, The question is " What does patriotism mean to you? " If anyone asked me this question I would say patriotism means loving one's country voluntarily where no force and rules will be applied. People will love their cultures and history and at the same time each and elements of it.
We all know today is our 50th victory day. Tonight is more colourful than any other night. Because on this day, all the government schools, colleges and universities are illuminated and it's great I know. But I think the half job has been done. I think in this day and age we should all take an oath that in the darkness of our minds there are so many obstacles hidden that we decorate our lives in the light of hard work. And then, as a nation, on the 50th Victory Day, we will be able to declare ourselves victorious.
Our country is moving forward at a rapid pace of development. If you take an oath to remove your obstacles and fears, you will become an ideal citizen of the country and play a big role in taking the country forward for development. As a result, You and my country Bangladesh will be a more developed and beautiful country. Happy victory day to all and huge respect to the Martyrs. May we take the oath and make the nation better together.✌
