πππππ’, everyone hope You're doing fine. Today I have the Third part of my tour post. Today in my writing I talked about the second place that I visit in my first day of the tour . So lets go through it.
If you go through my "Shitakundu tour: Day 1: The Chandranath" Temple post you already know that we are now in Shitakundu, Chittagong. After having our lunch you again go to our room take some necessary tools and get prepared for our next destination Barobkundo around 2:45 pm.
We take a CNG (a motor vehicle) it cost us 150 for the ride. It takes almost 30 minutes to reach the spot. While we were going we stop by a store to buy water and some snacks for the trail. The CNG dropped us at entrance of the forest. It rains a bit so there was mud all around and get going through that mud and our trail begins. The most interesting part is we didnβt take any guide.
Nahid my friend who is studying in CUET, he already cover some of the trail like this. So he said if we take a guide there will be no adventure. So we can't control the greed of adventure. So we were on our own. As it was rainy season the day time duration was long enough, the sun sets after 6:30. So we get almost 3 hours to cover the trail. So while we were going we didnβt shot much photo to save our time. Rather we were enjoying the peace and tranquillity of the forest.
Big trees were surrounding us, sun was peeping through the leaves, we were passing through a water stream, the pebbles were beneath our feet, we can feel the breeze, the chattering of birds, sounds of cricket. Those feelings were really mind blowing. We werenβt feeling any tiredness , few hours back we climbed a thousand feet mountain, we forgot about everything. We were following the stream to reach the waterfall. Thatβs all we know at that time. We were just drowned in the beauty of the nature. It seems like Mother nature was embracing us.
Nahid told us that if we continue to follow the stream we will get a waterfall. So we were following his lead. In one part of the forest there were too many guava trees and the ripped aroma of the guavas were in air. Suddenly we noticed that a sone wild cows are eating the fallen guavas. We get frightened, because if they attack us we couldnβt defend us. They were starring at us, but they were polite and they didnβt mind to see us. They were doing there job. We slowly crossed them. And that was a relief. We also pick some guavas from the trees and they taste really good. While were going I made some mark with the stones to signed our track. So we could follow them back.
We heard that there is one or two Temple inside the forest and a small community leave there to look after those temples. So we were searching for people, so we could get some directions. After a hour of tracking in the water and pebbles our legs get tried. But we hadnβt get any sign of waterfall or temple. So we kept walking as the sun wil go down within 2 hours. Suddenly we saw some kind of structure. We were sure that we find a temple. We were happy to see the temple top. Our energy got restored and we averagely run to the temple.
The Temple was about 300 hundreds years old. It's a temple of shiva. The most attractive part of the temple is " Shita's Furnace " the place is below under the temple, but the roof is open. There is a pit full of water and fire is burning on the top of the water. The myth about this furnace is The Shiva was angry at Shita and then break her into pieces and the through them into earth. The places where the pieces fall the creat furnace there. But scientifically the Methane gas coming out under the water and creat this furnace.
After visiting the temple we again started to follow the stream. After tracking for almost two hours we saw a cascade. We were excited to see that. Previously the tour experiences we here no one mention about this waterfall, so it seems one kind of discovery to us. The road was blocked with spider net, seems like no one go through this road for long time. We checked the depth of the cascade with our bamboo it was about 4 feet so we normally cross the the first one. But after walking for few minutes we found another one. And it was deep. We Couldn't find the bottom with our bamboo. So it was bit risk if we fell we will be drowned. So we took risk, a sense of adventure though. One by one helping each other we cross that one. We encounter another one it was a full of water and the edges were hardly seen and slippery. We took support of the roots of trees and cross the last one. It was thrilling. Then finally we reached the waterfall after trailing a few more minutes. Of the beauty of the Place was really heart touching. Big pile of rocks and tress around us.
The waterfall wasnβt that much beauty, because there wasnβt much water. But the fascinating part was there was rainbow. And its my first time I saw a rainbow that big in a waterfall. It was really marvelous.
We take bath there. Suddenly we notice there was hundreds of small leeches in our clothes. There was so much trouble to get rid of them. Then we packed our things got ready to return.
We took another road unconsciously while returning. The sun was turning red, it will go down soon. After walking for half an hour we understand thet we were in the wrong way. We were lost in the middle of nowhere. We sat on a place refreshed our minds and started to walk through water the water was deep in that part. It was really disturbing.
Then finally we find the guava trees. That was a relief. The light is already dimmed. So we started to walk as fast as we could. When we reached the entrance of the forest. It was dark. We couldnβt find any vihecle there, so we need to walk for 15 mins more and finally found a rickshaw. We reached our hotel by rickshaw. After reaching the hotel take got fresh and take rest. Then we had our dinner. After dinner we returned to our room. Charge our mobiles, heard songs, gossip with each other. At 12:30 we came out to street. The road was empty one or two tea stall was still open. Some cargo tracks were delivering goods. We had tea, walk on the empty street, as the police station was nearby so we walked freely without having any doubt. About 3 am we went to our room and fall asleep.
Tomorrow we will be visiting "Napittachora" in the morning, and "Guliakhali Sea beach" in the afternoon.
