When you hear the name of Semai of hand-cut rice, water comes to your tongue. The people of rural and urban areas also value hand-cut cakes.It is a traditional food of our village.The following recipe is completely made by my mother's hand.
Ingredients
- 1 cup of wheat flour
- 1 cup of water
- A little salt
- 1 liter of milk
- Cinnamon 2 pieces, cardamom 2, bay leaves 1
- 1/4 cup sugar or to taste (can be made with date powder if desired)
First you have to fry these semai with some oil for some time.
When the semai become light reddish, the semai should be taken off the stove. And for the next process the milk has to be ready and given fuel.
Put milk in a pan. When the milk is slightly reduced, add bay leaves, cinnamon and cardamom in the milk.
Then add sugar to the milk. Heat the milk for a while, add a little bit of it and shake it lightly. Always keep the stove on medium heat.
And sometimes shake the semai carefully so that the cake does not stick to the bottom of the pot.
Now when all is well, you will see if the cake is cooked. When the cake is cooked and the semai becomes lightly thick, turn off the oven.
You can then take it out of the oven and serve it to eat. Lots of fun and delicious food.
