It has been just a little over the year since I have joined hive and a year that I have been with BDCommunity. At first, I was mostly "roaming" around and seeing what I can do and what I like writing about. Within 2 months, I found myself on the community threshold and I'm glad I did. BDCommunity or as we call it BDC is not just a community, it's a family - a family that I am a part of.
1. Support
One might raise the assumption that "Oh, you're a Bangladeshi so you might get supported by the BDC" but that doesn't happen all the time. There are rules and regulations that we abide by, but that's not all. And by support I'm not implying votes because all contents are not curated and all writers don't get votes because they have written. Just writing isn't enough, we, the authors, always try to write better, do better, be better than we were before. It's not mandatory to write every day, we write when we can. So, the priority is not writing every single day but writing better every time. The "fam" is always supportive in that aspect.
2. Zero tolerance to plagiarism and wrongdoers
Over time I have seen people trying to take advantage of the system - plagiarized content, vote begging, low-quality post writers, and even scammers. I have even seen how they have been handled and believe me when I say "zero tolerance" it might be a tad understatement, which only implies that "they're always watching". But before the hammer strikes, the offenders are always given a chance to correct their wrongdoings. Even with this much low tolerance, the community is still lenient.
3. Have you read "Turni"?
If you don't know what "Turni" is, better click on the community page and you'll notice the first pinned article. It's not a curation post where the community showcases the posts that have been curated. It's something you cannot find in any other community. So, what is Turni? You can call it a small magazine where we showcase pieces written by a few authors of the community. It's a collective effort and the authors create their own piece that they haven't published on their wall. Turni is what drew me to the community from the very beginning and even now after a year, I'm very much in awe. I'll go on and just simply say that I love Turni and I love being a part of it.
3. See crazy, get crazy
Yes, I and a few others here in the fam are quite a crazy bunch. The times we spend chatting on discord and/or go crazy over the comment section, you'll come to the conclusion what a crazy bunch is this and we won't have it any other way. We're always trying to communicate with each other and outside the community as well. Our Discord server is one fun lounge. We hold weekly voice chat every Friday night where not only do we raise issues that we are dealing with, we talk about trades and other cryptos, poke one another, and other stuff important and unimportant - all in all, it's a time well spent. The Discord link of the community is attached right below.

I think I have already mentioned that BDC isn't just a community but a family, it's a virtual home I suppose. For an average writer like me, making a place here is a big deal, and believe me, I'm ready for an earful for calling myself average. Everyone has been so supportive to a point that I feel appreciated. Not only this, but the community also has charitable functions where anyone can donate to those in need.
Finally, I'd like to thank guiltyparties "community celebration". For the appreciation contest link click here
