Do not come between me and ma food. I repeat, do not come between me and ma food.
The Egg is right, I am a foodie. It has always been this way, I'd always take my time enjoying every bite savoring the taste. Not only do I love food but also I enjoy food. But one thing I have never enjoyed is rushing to finish my meal - I like taking my time. A few years back, one of my foodie cousins was telling another relative of mine that
"I'd rather live till 50 and eat whatever my heart desires than live till 75 and watch other people eat what I want."
My food-loving heart soared that day. Yes, foodies will find foodies wherever we go. Even though I love to eat, my love for cooking isn't the same - I don't like cooking at all though I know how to cook. This is why all the recipes everywhere do not catch my attention. Let's skip that.
You got to help me. The foodie in me cannot decide on just 5 food. No. No. Hell no. It wants more and more. so I'll just list whatever I can.
Pastitsio & Revani:
While I was looking for pictures of Pastitsio, I came across Revani; I immediately thought "what a way good lunch it looks like." And if I can end it with a Vinsanto Wine - Uhm, just the thought of it is pushing me to hop into a plane and visit Greece. To be honest, I have epic love for pasta, but not much for lasagna though. What I want to do is have all 3 of those while I am in Greece otherwise it will always feel like something's missing.
(Brat... we're gonna try Ouzo)
Turkish Kebab:
Since last year I have been planning on visiting Istanbul with a friend and among every other food we both wanted to try, Kebab was one. But not just one type of Kebab, we want to try whatever options we can find there and not limit ourselves. And that includes several types of Kebabs and roasted lamb and stews. Although coffee isn't food, I not only want to try some, I want to bring a lot of it back home.
(Turkish coffee for your parents and Brat, not for you "Egg")
Soba, and many types of Sushi:
For some reason, I feel the combination of soup and noodles is so wrong. So wrong. And thankfully, (this isn't a recent search) while I was looking for not-soupy noodles in Japan, I saw Soba and I felt relieved. So, for obvious reasons, I want to try Soba. And Sushi. Although I have had Sushi before, only chicken and shrimp
(Egg don't forget Sake)
Filet Mignon:
This may tear apart my already holed pockets. When I first heard the name I thought, was it a dessert or something? Then I realized it was not a dessert but steak and too expensive. Expensive or not, the sight of it is just too delicious to pass up.
(Is Sauvignon blanc too fancy for us?)
Everything Italian:
Yes, I especially love Italian food. So if and only if possible, I'll try all Italian cuisine, except everything pork. Just this Saturday I had Tortellini, I wasn't totally happy - I was expecting something else. And I have tried fettuccine, ravioli, spaghetti carbonara, and bolognese - I have only tasted just a few items and there's so much more left. Egg, I tell you, you'd love Focaccia. Can you believe I haven't had Gelato and Tiramisu yet? Atrocious. Ohh and look at the sparkly Aperol Spritz drinks. And I only question myself "When?" like someone who hadn't had any food in 3 days. Sigh.
Before I end this, Egg had asked me to tag 1 person but I thought "why tag one when I can tag 2" so I'm tagging a foodie Brat and our resident Wangji
As much as I love food, I have dreamed of traveling just as much. I don't see myself enjoying these delicacies here, even if they're available and I had gotten a taste. I'd rather be in a restaurant or cafe in those countries while I enjoy them. That would just be perfect.
A mouthwatering meal in a panoramic setting, and I couldn't ask for anything more.
