আজ ২২ এপ্রিল, ধরিত্রী দিবস। যদিও আমি এই দিবস সম্পর্কে জানা ছিলো না, তবে সকালে ঘুম থেকে উঠে ক্রোম ব্রাউজারের মাধ্যমে প্রথম জানতে পারি আজ বিশ্ব দিবস। প্রতি বছর ২২শে এপ্রিল পালিত হয় বিশ্ব দিবস। তবে এই দিবসটি প্রথম পালিত হয় ১৯৭০ সালে। মার্কিন সেনেটর গেলর্ড নেলসন এই দিবসের প্রচলন করেন। বর্তমানে এইটি আর্থ ডে নেটয়ার্ক কর্তক সারা বিশ্বে পালিত হয়।
বিশ্ব দিবস পালন করার পেছনে মূল কারণ হলো, পরিবেশ রক্ষা ও পৃথিবীর মানুষদের সবুজ বনায়নে উৎসাহিত করা। ১৯৯০ সালে এই বিশ্ব দিবস আন্তর্জাতিক ভাবে ১৪১ টি দেশে পালিত হয়েছিলো।
গুগল আজ বিশ্ব দিবসের ছোট ডুডল ভিড়িওতে আমাদের একটা বার্তা দিতে চেয়েছে। মানুষ চাইলে পৃথিবীটা কে সুন্দর সবুজে ভরিয়ে দিতে পারে। আর সেটা অন্যকে অনুপ্রাণিত করে পৃথিবীকে সুন্দর করে তৈরি করতে।In English:

The main reason behind celebrating World Day is to protect the environment and encourage the people of the world in green forestry. In 1990, World Day was celebrated internationally in 141 countries.
