June Weather Review
June was a great summer month this year but the continued lack of rainfall has made parts of nature really dry and fire hazard is extremely high in many places. More details are below.
Temperature and Air humidity
The lowest temperature we saw happened on the 6th of June during the night, 3.7C and the highest temperature was 28.3C on the 21st of June. The average of the month was 16.2C, a bit colder than June in 2022.
Humidity is fluctuating heavily and periodically falls as low as into the 20s%.
SOlar radiation and UV
Seems to be the same as in May. UV is usually here around 6 during the daytime and sometimes goes to 7.
It's strange to think that now the days will only get shorter again until Christmas. Right now our nights are bright and we won't see darkness pretty much for another month.
Rainfall
As I mentioned we had a very dry June. Only 3 rain events and one of them was intense enough. It was the second month in a row with almost non-existent rainfall. Fortunately, today and tomorrow we have heavy rainfall expected. Also, the storm is on the schedule for tomorrow. The total June rainfall was 10.9mm.
Wind and Direction
The wind has been usually calm. The strongest wind gust was 8.3m/s. Fluctuating a lot. You can clearly see the phenomenon that the wind goes to zero pretty much every night and picks up in the daytime and zero again the next night. This same pattern will probably go on in July as well.
It looks like the majority of the wind comes from the west but also from the north this time.
Air pressure
Usually has been on the high side. At the end of the month dropped below 1000 and right now is also well under 1000, on 993 due to the system that arrives right now. It will probably fall even further.
I hope July will be a good summer month but we desperately need rain and at least right now we are going to get some. It remains to be seen if the month will be hot or mild but make your guess, how hot will the temperature get at some point during the month and lets see who wins this one, good luck!
