Decided to do something different for a change. I am hugely into weather science and when there is a possibilty of a storm or another severe weather, It makes me want to observe. I also have my own weather station on the roof, that also helps me in observing.
Right now the first stronger autumn storm is approaching us and I decided to document it here as the conditions unfold. My weather community here can also get some utilization lol 😆.
Basically what's coming is strong storm winds, torrential rains and flooding due to rising sea level is possible on the coast. National weather service has given second stage warnings to the whole country. Read the warning.
32m/s is a cat 1 hurricane strenght wind gust!
Storm is approaching and arrives later today but the main part should be tomorrow daytime. This is how the Windy map looks like for tomorrow. We will get wind up to 32m/s on the coast and that will break trees, rise sea level and cause havoc in electric grids.
Until this point we had a sunny day but now clouds came in and torrential rains shouldn't be far. Here is a rain radar of Estonia. Somethings coming from the west.
Those incoming clouds are also visible on the TV tower live camera.
Wind is starting to pick up right now but is nothing special at the moment. Western Estonia sees up to 12m/s as of 6pm or 16.00. The wind should quickly start to get stronger in the coming hours. Here you can see the top wind speeds in the past hour.
And here is a photo taken by me, just now.
Air pressure has quickly started to go downhill and will continue to do so. Photo from my weather station data.
Here is also a short clip showing you how the wind looks like now, just a usual strong, nothing much. I wish I could use Threespeak but its not easy to do updates like this with it so I will use youtube for now.
Anyway, things will get more interesting as the hours go by and tomorrow when the main thing is here. Bad thing is that I am working today and tomorrow so it makes my storm blogging/following a bit hard but I will make sure to go outside to observe and also go to seaside after work to see the conditions there, even though its dark. I will make one more update later in the evening tonight and see how things have evolved during this time
