Here are my six entries for the letter G
Gunpowder Falls State Park
Gunpowder Falls State Park consists of 15,000 non-contiguous acres in both Baltimore County and Harford County, Maryland. There are many trail points to access parts of the park. This is the Central Area of Big Gunpowder Falls State Park in Baltimore County, Maryland. This is one of several photos that I found yesterday when I was looking over some older photos. I took this photo in Autumn 2017. I still haven't been on all of the trails at the Gunpowder Falls and just a couple of weeks ago I checked out another area that I hadn't been to yet. Hopefully, I'll be showing some of those off soon!
Grasshopper
I caught this grasshopper when I visited the Conowingo Dam in Harford County, Maryland. I was resting my hand on a rail there when my son pointed out this really big grasshopper that was right next to my hand. I'm glad I didn't touch it as I'm sure it would have hopped off especially after I would've screamed. I may have screamed more from being startled than being afraid of it though as it is an interesting looking insect. I was even more happy that it stood still long enough for me to get a decent photo of it!
Gold
Hey! Who doesn't like a little (or lots of) gold?! This is a one-tenth ounce gold American Eagle coin. Ooh! So shiny and pretty! I don't have many gold coins and this may be the actual only one that I do have. I love the American Eagle design and while this may be the only gold one that I have, I do have a few American Eagle coins that are silver.
Guinea Pig
So ya'll might think that my favorite animal / pet would be a cat but I've loved guinea pigs long before cats. My very first pet was a guinea pig and my most loved pet was a guinea pig. I just love them little squeakers! This little guy is Phil which is short for Philadelphia because that is where my daughter bought him at for me. He is a silver agouti guinea pig and looks much like my most loved guinea pig. Totally different temperament though but I still love him! 💖
Gargoyle
I did some editing on this old gargoyle statue that I have. It was in pretty rough shape when I got it which was definitely a weird story. You see some years ago my sister was spending the night and we got to talking about gargoyles. I mentioned that I wouldn't mind having a gargoyle statue but didn't feel like spending money for such a thing. Gargoyles served as decorative water spouts on the rooftops of churches throughout Europe many years ago but legend has it that they also looked scary to ward off evil spirits. Anyway, when my sister and I woke up the next morning we were going to go to the store. It was raining and when we got to her car there was this stone gargoyle next to her car. She didn't want me to put it in her car but relented and I promptly removed him once we got back from the store. Pretty weird wouldn't you say?! This gargoyle is known as Little Dedo and is a modern copy of Little Dedo at The Notre Dame Cathedral. I tried to find out if Little Dedo was lost in the fire but was not able to confirm one way or the other.
Ghosts
What better way to follow gargoyles than with ghosts! I get it..not everyone believes in such things but I am of the believer group. I've had "experiences" all of my life as have most people in my family. I've written a little about some experiences and won't go into those now. Below are three photos that I took showing (what I belive to be) ghosts. I took this first photo at Marshy Point in Baltimore County, Maryland. I'm including a close-up also which is my second photo. To me, it appears to be a woman wearing a formal type dress. I can make out most of the ghostly apparition except for her head. I have other photos of the same area and at the same time and it doesn't show up on those photos. I think it may really be a ghost that I captured but I won't twist your arm to believe me. That is something that one must decide for ones self.
My last photo is of another ghost but this one is really just for fun or should I say good fun! 😉
