This is my entry in the Alphabet Hunt Challenge by . You can read more about the Alphabet Hunt and how to join in HERE!
Here are my six (or so) photos representing the letter M ...
1. Marshy Point Nature Center
Marshy Point Nature Center is a park in Baltimore County, Maryland. They have a nature center with many interesting exhibits, miles of trails to walk and even a paddle trail. I've never been on the paddle trail but I have visited the nature center and walked many of the trails there. It is a beautiful park with scenic views of both the land and water.
2. Millstone
This large millstone is on display at the Jerusalem Mill Village in Baltimore County, Maryland. Jerusalem Mill Village is a living history museum. The gristmill had millstones as large as 52 inches. I didn't measure this one but it is the largest millstone that I've seen so far!
3. Moss
I photographed this mossy tree that was along the Gunpowder Falls river. It was such a lush layer of moss that I couldn't help but run my hand over it!
4. Marigold
Marigolds strike me as a cheerful kind of flower! They add a delightful pop of color to gardens too. I took this photo at the in-laws house. They have a lovely display of Marigolds every year and I do look forward to seeing them (the marigolds and the in-laws) when I'm there along with some other nice plants in their garden.
5. Mums
I saw these pretty mums while visiting a farm type store near me. Mums is actually short for Chrysanthemums but I've always just called them Mums. I guess I got that from my Mum..lol. My mom loved all kinds of plants and flowers and had quite the "green thumb" with them. I did not inherit that green thumb but I'm improving on keeping most of my plants healthy and living.
6. Mourn / Mourning
This word was a last minute entry. We all have times that we mourn the loss of different things including people and pets that we love dearly. I'm currently mourning the loss of my sweet little Friendly girl. She was more than a pet, she was a member of our family. Friendly kept me company and was almost always by my side. I miss her terribly but it was her time to leave just like one day it will be mine.
Sorry to end on a bit of a sad note but that is a part of life and sometimes we have to say goodbye to loved ones be it people or pets although instead of goodbye I prefer to say I'll see you soon! 💕
That brings us to the end of this edition of #alphabethunt!
