While on a motorhome holiday in Dorset, UK, we set off for a walk from the campsite. We found a footpath that led down the side of a wooded area.
Not far into the wood, we spotted something unexpected, a small Santa peeping out from a hole in a tree. It had obviously been left behind from a children’s Christmas trail.
We crossed a little wooden bridge over a brook into the middle of the wood.
I found a few clusters of fungi. It was then that we realised that we’d taken the wrong path and had to retrace our steps.
After a circular walk, we ended up in the field that is partly designated for dog walks. Bright yellow gorse lined the edges. It was here that the pooch had a good roll on the grass.
Back at the campsite, rabbits were running across the field.
Two cock pheasants appeared to be fighting, with lots of posturing. To be honest, it was more like handbags at dawn!
All in all, it was a good walk with a few unexpected things along the way. Nothing too strenuous, just a good wander through the woods and fields. It was nice to get out in the fresh air before heading back for lunch.
Thank you to for running the contest.
