Rising at 5:45 am it was still dark here in the sunshine state of Southwest Florida, USA. But it was peaceful to sip coffee and watch the sun slowly rise out of the darkness. The birds began to peep, and I thought, those babies still need their mommas to bring them breakfast. It made me smile. It helped me plan my day.
With the weather forecast being very favorable for a visit to the beach, lift off was easy. Coolers were packed. Lunch was planned and fishing poles , bait and tackle was secured. I was pumped. I'm all about bringing in a really big fish. It's exciting just thinking of reeling in a cool, fat fish, one with lots of fight. I love reeling in a fighter fish, so much fun.
That was not to be today. After spending several hours on the beach, sun bathing, enjoying lunch and fishing, just one bite on the line was all I needed. I saw the pole bend, felt the tug on the line and it was jerk and pull. Walking backwards toward the shore I saw the silver fish splash out of the water. I just reeled, pulled and was sure I had the big boy.
Suddenly, my line went flat, I knew it was over, I had him, then I didn't.
Shucks.
My day of fishing was done, no landing the big one.
Consolation prize.
Some very friendly #featheredfriends.
These boys just strutted their stuff, not at all afraid of us humans.
Such beautiful birds to enjoy.
I love the beach, the joy of #nature in the southern part of my country is really something to see.
This hawk circled for quite a while, but said the same thing I did, no fish today.
Yet this guy had his fill. I named him FATSO
Being by the sea is extraordinary, peaceful and joyful. The lap of the water on the sand as each wave rolls in sooths the soul.
Let's just walk on by in pursuit of finer things.
Happy days are here again.
Wishing all my #hive friends, better days ahead.
Peace and love.
