I have worked as a part-time freelance writer for the last 4 or 5 months, I think, and through that, I have been able to buy the things I have always wanted to buy, and man, does it feel good.
These are things that I could have easily asked my parents for; I mean, I don’t ask my parents a lot of stuff to buy for me ever since elementary school because I don’t want them spending lots of money on material things.
But still, these things are something that I both need and want hahaha.
The first thing that I bought using my own money was a Bench perfume.
It’s super weird to think that many people, in general, believe that having good hygiene is a feminine thing to do. Like, who doesn’t want to smell good when they go out?
Anyways, I bought this for myself because I rarely go out eating in restaurants or going to the mall because I like to stay curled up in my bed, but when I do, I want to make the best out of it by smelling nice, especially when I’m with my girlfriend.
This cost me about 130 Pesos or $2.58
The next thing I bought was a Celeteque toner, specifically the Acne Solutions one, which should have cost me 139 pesos, but because they had a sale, it only cost me 118 pesos or $2.38
I bought this because I have always felt ugly because of my acne. Growing up, I’ve always had lots of ance on my face, which made me feel really insecure with other people who had acne-free faces. And so, I tried tons of many ance removing products, and none of them seemed to work except for this one.
Now, I can get rid of my acne slowly but surely hehe.
The last thing I bought was the most expensive of the bunch. My Mpow Mbits S earbuds.
This cost me 1130 pesos or $22.45. I bought this earbud because my laptop emits a high-frequency sound whenever I plug my regular wired earphones. So I thought of using a Bluetooth one, and it worked like a charm.
This also was perfect for my music-listening sessions, as I enjoy listening to music in almost everything I do.
I also used a huge chunk of the money I’ve earned to help buy my mother’s medication. And lastly, I also invested the money I made into my Binance account and help boost my trading.
These things might seem petty for some, but this is a giant leap in my adulting journey.
To earn money for myself and buy things that I wanted for a long time gives a different sense of satisfaction.
This also is an excellent lesson for me as it gives me a perspective of how important money is and how wisely and carefully we must spend it.
