We've walked past this beautiful building hundreds of times, and I'd be lying if I said I never felt curious to see inside. But since it's a public building, I thought I'd never get over this curiosity, until a few weeks ago when my grandmother asked for permission to go inside and see how beautiful it is.

We loved discovering that the interior retains all the original elements of its construction. The floors are truly striking and beautiful. I was fascinated to learn what my grandfather always mentions in his conversations: what a cistern is.

Luis always remembers the cistern they had at the house where he grew up. He says the water from there is sweet and very fresh, no matter how hot it is. How wonderful that we were able to go inside this beautiful period building and photograph it with my grandmother's mobile phone
