Few years back my cousin and his fiancé including my big brother and myself visited one of the biggest Art gallery in Abuja . The name of the gallery is called Nike art centre .
Immediately we arrived at gallery we did our registration by putting down our names and e-mail address. We didn’t know why they did that I think it’s part of the gallery policy . After the registration from the first floor we already saw beautiful pictures filled with vibrant colors ,the gallery is so spacious and beautiful. We didn’t really waste so much time at the first floor because we were eager to see what the other painting look like. When we got upstairs we saw beautiful paintings the first painting I noticed was a picture of our Nigeria singer and legend fella kuti and they also had a painting of our a typical day in Lagos looks like and another painting that really drew my attention was a painting of a woman breastfeeding her baby.
For those who are familiar with the Nigeria legend fella kuti can tell how exciting it’s to see a painting of him , femi kuti was a singer in Nigeria he sang about how bad the government was and how unfair they are to the citizens , years have passed and everything he always sang about is what we’re all facing in our country.
The second painting which drew my attention was the Lagos street painting . Everyone who knows how busy Lagos is can easily relate to those pictures it was really nice seeing them and the artist really did well painting all
the busy moments in Lagos.
The Third painting that drew my attention was that of the breastfeeding mother . I find the painting so interesting and beautiful because the society makes it seem like it’s embracing breastfeeding babies in public places and it’s so nice of the artist to bring the reality of motherhood into Art .
The other paintings and sculptures were so beautiful . I couldn’t really translate some of The painting and that’s is what makes art beautiful ,every painting all have their stories it was so unfortunate we didn’t get to meet some of this artist to translate the meaning of some of the painting .
After looking at the art works I and my cousins fiancé (now legally a wifey 😁) decided to take pictures and lots of videos . It was also a good time for us to bond more . the art gallery experience will always be one of the core memory to remember for a long time .
After the experience of the gallery we headed to a snack /coffee shop to get snacks we ended getting a box of donuts and ice cream then we proceeded back home that was how our day ended .
