ECW was known for audience participation from its loyal fans. This included handing weapons for the wrestlers to use, being the first to hold up signs with inside jokes or adult-based themes, throwing chairs into the ring, and even throwing styrofoam heads into the ring for Al Snow during his entrance or after matches.
Fans also participated by handing weapons and following wrestlers when they brawled in the crowds, in areas of the arena like the concession stands & hallways, and even when the wrestlers fought outside the building.
However, little is discussed about the handful of times when ECW fans actually got into the ring after a match to celebrate with wrestlers. The times this happened the most frequently were after matches featuring The Public Enemy, Rocco Rock and Johnny Grunge.
Two such examples are in the ECW Arena, as seen at the 17:30 mark of the above video, after defeating The Gangstas (New Jack and Mustafa). This took place in 1995.
Another time this happened was in Florida, after a match featuring the same two teams. WWE even has a page dedicated to this on its website:
It also was included in the recent WWE Vault YouTube channel video of "found" ECW footage. You can see the fans in the ring at the 4:02 mark of this video:
