I am open to your thoughts on ways in which the professional wrestling industry can use Web3 and other blockchain technology in order to grow profits for promotions, increase fan awareness for paid online events, and help the wrestlers and other talent (managers, referees, announcers, etc.) earn more money so that they can continue onward with their careers.
Since the last post on this topic several weeks ago, here are additional ideas for discussion:
Using other blockchains like HIVE and cross-link to each of them. For example the LENS protocol has several front-end apps which permit reading of content just like HIVE has Peakd, Ecency, Waivio and others.
SocialFi creator coins on platforms like Zora and Paragraph where the profile owner has an overall publicly-available "profile coin" (writer coin). Each post has its own publicly-traded coin (token) as well. These typically show up on the BASE blockchain and can be used for "Tiered access" such as if you own 1000 "HIVEWRESTLER" coin then you would get a free autographed 8x10 at a specific upcoming signing event, bypassing the need to pay for it.
Verification signing (Arweave, Polygon, or other low-cost/no-cost verifications) for things like photos taken with wrestlers are authentic and not AI-generated. The same could be applied to autographs, memorabilia, etc.
Fans who scan Web3-focused QR codes at local businesses around town, such as if a wrestling promotion has a deal with local gas stations or coffee shops, to verify a "check in". This may help the local business see objective, verifiable metrics that customers came into their storefronts as a result of the wrestling promotion encouraging its fans to visit its sponsors.
Uploading content on Web3-focused platforms could earn the wrestlers and/or the promotion free crypto such as if uploading video content on the HIVE-associated 3speak platform. Even if the content simultaneously gets uploaded to YouTube, the local benefit of more online awareness and free crypto incentive could add more awareness and/or small revenue streams to keep the promotion from having to close its doors - thus denying wrestlers an opportunity for more paydays.
POAP NFTs could be granted to fans who attend shows (through a QR Code). That POAP badge (NFT) could have a sponsor who paid to be featured as part of the NFT, since that NFT would be displayed on the fans' NFT collection pages for a long time.
Again, these are just some ideas. Feel free to leave your thoughts on this post.
