Remember when Edge speared Mick Foley through the table at WrestleMania 22? That was the scariest WrestleMania match I have ever watched. Next to that was Kane vs. MVP in the Inferno match, where MVP was lit up by Kane at the end, and a fire extinguisher had to be used on him. To me, these matches signify the sacrifices our dear wrestlers were willing to take just to entertain us, putting their lives on the line each night for the fans.
I believe that these legends deserve more than just a paycheck that covers their immediate needs. Believe it or not, not every wrestler becomes a millionaire from fighting. Some of them end up with nothing at the end of their lives because most of their income goes back into expenses. They are termed as independent contractors, which means there is no retirement plan provided by the company employing them. I wish this were not the case, but hey, who am I to determine the rules of another person's business?
