Terracore is a relatively new game powered by Hive, which launched in March of this year. Players in the game collect SCRAP to purchase upgrades and items. Items can be salvaged to produce FLUX, used as fuel for exploration and questing.
The game has been alive on Hive for about three and a half months. Let's take a look at the growth of activity since the launch. HiveSQL enables easy historical analysis to count transactions related to the game, and Google Sheets makes it easy to plot the data.
Aside from June 9th, the 1 day with intense bot spam that resulted from the game server going down, the new quests feature has resulted in the largest increase of activity to date.
The data backing this chart was gathered via HiveSQL. Below is the query that counts custom_json ops for the game including hive-engine transactions. In-game upgrades, boss fights, and quests are initiated with a hive-engine token transfer to . The game currently uses two different Hive-Engine symbols: SCRAP, and FLUX.
SELECT DATEPART(day, timestamp) as day_bucket, COUNT(*) as num_rows
FROM TxCustoms
WHERE timestamp between '2023-06-01' and '2023-06-20'
AND (tid LIKE 'terracore_%'
OR (tid = 'ssc-mainnet-hive' AND (json like '%"symbol":"SCRAP"%' OR json like '%"symbol":"FLUX"%'))
)
GROUP BY DATEPART(day, timestamp)
ORDER BY day_bucket ASC

In Summary
From the plot we can see the game has been steadily growing since launch. New features keep the players engaged and drive increased activity. It will be exciting to monitor the growth as the game evolves.
