Greetings to the Top Family community. It's 1:46 a.m. in my beloved Venezuela, and after having my power restored about eight hours ago, I wanted to take advantage of this connection time to interact on Hive. During my search, I came across the Observe think write contest, an initiative by that I deeply appreciate, as it provides the perfect setting for this moment of creation.
I'm a romantic vagabond, a widowed Latin lover
"We all have a little bit of the musician, the poet, and the madman in us." That's how I begin, because the streets are full of creative people who leave their mark on life so as not to go unnoticed. The other day, crossing the street, Mr. Simón appeared out of nowhere, honking the horn of his "Machito."
That vehicle is his work tool for covering the route to town, but it's not just any old pickup truck. Mr. Simón was widowed some time ago, but apparently, he didn't have "permission" from his wife—may God rest her soul—to be sad, much less to let himself go. That's why he decided to keep traveling the road in his old truck, livening up the journey with the radio blasting, like someone who always wants to be partying.
I got to ride with him, and that's how I discovered where the bus stop was, since it had been a while since I'd been back to my town. The truck still has its original turquoise paint job; Mr. Simón has been its only owner. I know that Mrs. Rosario, who loved it dearly, never wanted him to get rid of the car; she wanted him to stay active, doing what he loves so much: traveling and keeping the route alive so that visitors can get to know the town. I was told that's why he decided to put up the sign: "I'm a romantic vagabond, a widowed Latin lover," thus becoming an unforgettable character and a true tourist attraction.
