Mi hermano vive actualmente en Brasil desde hace nueve años, se fue cuando la cosa estaba muy difícil aquí en Venezuela, volvió después de un año pero no le gustó lo que encontró, se regresó nuevamente a Brasil y allá se ha mantenido, luego mi otro hermano con su familia también emigraron a Brasil, viven cerca todos los fines de semana se reúnen también con otras personas venezolanas algunas son familia otras solo conocidas, formaron su comunidad en otro territorio, están muy a gusto, siempre veo los fines de semana compartiendo tal cual lo hacíamos aquí, hacen sopas, piscinadas para los niños, parrilladas, celebración de cumpleaños y demás días festivos, no cambiaron el estilo de vida del venezolano, solo cambiaron de entornos, las tradiciones siguen intactas, hacen hallacas, ensalada de gallina, pan de jamón, pabellón criollo, cuajado o pastel de pescado, queso duro, tequeños, beben cerveza, whisky aunque de otra marca, bailan y escuchan nuestra música Venezolana, han compartido nuestra historia y cultura con muchos brasileños.
My brother has been living in Brazil for nine years now. He left when things were very difficult here in Venezuela. He returned after a year, but he didn't like what he found, so he went back to Brazil and has remained there ever since. Then my other brother and his family also emigrated to Brazil. They live nearby and get together every weekend with other Venezuelans, some family, others just acquaintances. They've formed their own community in a different country and are very happy there. I always see them on weekends, sharing the same things we used to do here: making soups, having pool parties for the kids, barbecues, celebrating birthdays, and other holidays. They haven't changed their Venezuelan lifestyle, just their surroundings. The traditions remain intact. They make hallacas, chicken salad, ham bread, pabellón criollo, cuajado (fish pie), hard cheese, tequeños, and drink beer and whiskey (though different brands). They dance and listen to our Venezuelan music and have shared our history and culture with many Brazilians.
Elías se viene para los primeros días de abril, realmente estoy super emocionada de volver a verlo, aunque nos llamamos todos los fines de semana me hace falta tenerlo cerca, no se aun sus planes si es quedarse o piensa volver ni siquiera se lo he preguntado ya él no los dirá, yo solo se que estoy muy feliz por volver a verlo y abrazarlo.
Elias is coming in early April, and I'm really excited to see him again. Even though we talk every weekend, I miss having him close. I don't know his plans yet, whether he's staying or coming back. I haven't even asked him; he won't tell me. I just know I'm so happy to see him and hug him again.
