Today I join this ThrowbackThursday, with that good vibe that beautiful memories bring, the kind you keep without even realizing it and that over time become special. Because there are moments in life that don’t need to be perfect or planned, they simply happen, are enjoyed, and remain.
This space is always the perfect excuse to go back for a moment, smile, remember, and share a little piece of our story with you. And honestly, that feels good.

That day was January 1st, 2015, at my mother’s house in Puerto Cabello, #Venezuela, one of those days when you wake up tired after all the December celebrations and New Year’s Eve, just wanting to rest a little more and stay quiet. But that didn’t apply to MarĂa de JesĂşs. She had a different energy, a different way of seeing life. All it took was to say “pose for the photo, MarĂa de JesĂşs” and she would instantly switch on, as if she had a special button for it. She would go into photogenic mode and the magic would begin, with that naturalness, that confidence, and that spark that made her unique. It was amazing to watch her, because you didn’t have to insist, she would step right into it, enjoy the moment, play with the camera as if she already knew that memory would last forever. đź’›
And that was just who she was, playful, intelligent, sharp, with a personality that filled any space. She always had something to say, something to do, a look that would make you laugh or simply brighten your day. Her condition, that congenital heart disease she carried with her, was never a limitation, never an excuse. On the contrary, it seemed to push her to live more, to make the most of every moment, to never stay still. And that is something you come to understand with time, because not everyone has that kind of strength.
Everyone around her did their best to keep her happy, to be there for her, to take care of her and give her the best within everything. Her family, her friends, all were part of that world where she shined with her own light. And she responded in the best way she knew, with joy, with love, with that smile that was always there. She was the kind of girl who never said no, always willing, always brave, always ready to live and share. I loved that about her, because no one had to push her, she moved forward on her own, always ready, always present, always with that attitude that filled your heart.
Today, when I look at this photo, there is no sadness, there is gratitude. Because I was blessed to see her be born, to share life with her, to watch her grow, to enjoy every one of her little mischiefs, her photos, her unique way of being. Today she would be 20 years old, a young lady, but God decided to take her into His embrace at just 13 years old. And even though that hurts, what remains is everything beautiful, everything she left in us, everything she planted in each of those who knew her. This memory is not to cry, it is to smile, to remember her as she was, joyful, authentic, full of life, always ready for the camera, always ready to live.
And so, between smiles, memories, and that love that never fades, I hold on to all the beautiful things MarĂa de JesĂşs gave us. Because there are people who are never forgotten; they simply live on in every memory, every laugh, and every moment we shared.
Thanks to this beautiful #TopFamily community and to Prof. for allowing me to share a little piece of my story.
If this memory brought a smile to your face, then it was all worth it.
I’ll be reading you in the comments
