A milestone day
Today I hit 500 HIVE staked.
Not from buying them but by posting.
Day after day after day.
Of course I've gotten help from the GLD curation accounts and without that I would be at a much much smaller number but then again, that is the whole point of joining a community. Mentorship and curation from more seasoned accounts plus in a highly active community... upvotes from your peers.
But it has been said that consistency is key on HIVE. That's true but trying to find things to talk about on a regular basis and making sure to write upvote worthy posts is also important ... and that can be difficult.
Finding topics
Which brings up: How to find something to talk about?
Honestly I'm not expert on this. I wish I had a more interesting life but most of the time its walking the dog, doing housework, going to the gym, watching anime and vibe coding to try and prepare this community. That makes for pretty dry reading.
Plus I travel a fair amount so I can make some travel posts every now and then. Like tomorrow when I start a three week vacation to Europe.
However as I tell new users. Don't look for the perfect post. Perfect posts rarely come. Just be authentic and post you. Post what you find interesting. If no-one else finds it interesting? Well, you have an immutable copy of who you were at a specific point in time...perhaps your children or grandchildren will find it interesting in a decade or two. Maybe you will find it interesting at a different point in your life.
Of course, ideally you find other people who find it interesting, you make some friends and followers and have your HIVE account take off.
Will my HIVE account take off? I doubt it, I just don't have the personality for it. I think that's a plus though. If I can reach 500 HIVE from grinding anyone can reach 500 HIVE from grinding. I like to think I'm proof that you don't have to be a charismatic superstar to grow on HIVE. Just a regular person who wants to put their real self forward.
Travel, HIVE and OffGrid living
As for me there are really only three things I have been posting about.
- Travelling (like my trip to Surabaya before and my upcoming trip to Europe)
- Off Grid living (I have an off grid home in the Philippines and another mostly off grid home in Terrace)
- Updates on vibe coding for the Great Little Dragons.
It has helped me get to 500 HIVE and I'm curious how far it will help me go.
But what am I likely to post above in the future?
Probably much the same.
I have lots to do in the GLD community. Hopefully I can get to the more interesting part of building a GLD website with links, useful dApps, and hopefully a weekly battle system. I'm really looking forward to having a community where I feel comfortable bringing in new users, playing together, and writing about the battles. But right now that is just a dream.
I have lots to do in both the Philippines and in Rosswood (Canada). I hope that I can talk about completion of both places. To have actual rental cabins and AirBNB spaces in a cool wilderness camp in Rosswood. Who knows, maybe even invite HIVE users to come and visit untamed nature and the Canadian wilds. I think that would be so cool. In the Philippines its not untamed nature but I would love to start a beautiful orchard with lots of fruit trees. If I can actually finish my place there and start planting one I would love to talk about that process as well.

But life has a habit of not exactly going to plan so I don't know what I'll be posting about to get to 1000, 5000, 10,000 and beyond. God willing time will tell and I hope I can make something interesting along the journey.
