Too little time to do anything, too much time to kill
Usually when I'm stuck in an airport I try to hit an airport lounge. Free food, comfy chairs, and reliable washrooms. However, in smaller airports or in this case when I arrive early in the morning and don't feel like their breakfast food... then I'm stuck in the general waiting area. Unfortunately that means overpriced everything, people everywhere, and not much to do or look at.
which sucks
Because I really want to keep working on the GLD website. Sure it isn't much but but I want to finally get things to "Minimal Acceptable Product" status so that people can use it and try things out.
The Faucet
On that note I would like to thank for using the faucet that I setup and mentioned once. Since he has a 7 day streak I'm assuming that :
- The faucet works
- It is giving incremental increases the more it is used
is awesome for posting daily. Good job!
But I will admit that the faucet looks pretty awful and doesn't really feel like part of anything larger. So, there is a newer version under construction and it will actually be the launch page for the GLD website when it does launch.
It now has a clock on the page. That's kind of important because the faucet looks back during the day to see if anything was posted. It doesn't look back 24 hours but rather by date and it uses the UTC to determine the date.
So, when before it didn't give any payout even when someone has posted recently? That's because there was a post a couple hours prior but on a different UTC date. (UTC=Universal Time Code).
Delegation payments.
curation account will be getting a boost to its HP soon as a couple of supporters are moving their support from
back to
. I'm watching curation rewards closely with a little app that shows fairly regular curation payments and HP growth
More importantly. Using that data I can figure out how much I'll be distributing to those people who delegate HP to the project. Things are still in the works right now but the plan is to make HP delegation rewards claimable from the GLD website daily. With every delegator receiving a portion of the rewards proportionate to the amount delegated but requiring them to actually claim it. The goal? Reward active members rather than just get passive delegations. Exact mechanism is yet to be determined but here is a sneak peak at what I'm working on.
Things likely won't be running for at least two weeks (and possibly much longer depending on schedule) as I'll be in Scotland vacationing but IF it were launched today?
would get a daily amount (if claimed) of 0.138125 HP/day * 365 days for a hypothetical 50.41 Hive on 100 HP delegated (50% APY). Which of course brings up the question: Why so much?. Well, it would be because all of the curation rewards would be distributed to delegators and the
account wouldn't be keeping any of its rewards but rather give it to those who delegate.
Again... this is the plan, it is not in operation yet!
For now there are absolutely rewards being given out but its done manually and weekly using a different formula.
Now GLS token is exchangeable on the hive-engine 1:1 for HIVE
So the 0.1595 GLS = 0.1595 HIVE (its larger than just the proposed delegation reward because its a combined payment of delegation and holding GLD tokens).
Why am I posting this?
Well,
- I'm bored in the airport
- I want to show I'm actually working on things behind the scenes
- To let people like
,
, and
that I see their support and appreciate it.
Looking forward to things moving forward
At the moment things are kind of boring in this community as nothing has happened for a long long time, but I really am trying to make things better and who knows maybe one day I'll succeed :)
