A change in direction
My original plan was to sell CRO every week and purchase HIVE tokens. Part of the CRO tokens came from interest which is taxable and VISA cashback which is not taxable. As a result I've been writing two reports weekly about the Hive that is moved and the investments that are supporting that purchase.
I'm actually fairly pleased.
From my investments in the Crypto.com CRO token I've been able to purchase
- 423.26 HIVE
- $43.99 CAD value
- Average purchase price $0.1039 per HIVE
From my Crypto.com VISA card I was able to purchase far more Hive
- 1172.01 HIVE
- $118.58 CAD value
- Average purchase price of $0.1011 per Hive
1595.27 Hive purchased since January
I'm quite pleased with that number. Most of those HIVE tokens were distributed to as that is my primary account an I wanted to get my KE number down to 2. I'm well below that and I plan to keep it that way.
Each of these posts was manually written
I didn't have a script that made these posts for me. Every line was calculated and typed by hand. Yes I had a spreadsheet, eventually, to do some calculations for me but it was quite the chore getting everything written for two different posts every week. Ugh.
However, now that I have two accounts that are actively converting HIVE to GLD and then converting those GLD to HBD for extracting to FIAT investments I think it is time to change up how things work.
If I continue as I have been I'll be converting
CRO->LTC->Swap.LTC->Swap.HIVE->HIVE
Which is fine but ever step along the way causes loss. Then if I'm converting coins on HIVE to FIAT I had to do it all over again in reverse.
GLD->Hive->Swap.HIVE->swap.ltc->LTC->Canadian Dollars
That is an awful lot of conversions!
To make things cleaner?
I'm envisioning a different flow. Visually I'm thinking something like this:
- I have opened up a stock trading account with WeBull in Canada.
- WeBull will get money from and send money to the CRO accounts
will get crypto from and send crypto to the CRO account
will receive GLD from HIVE members to take virtual ownership of assets inside the WeBull account....and send GLD tokens back when dividends come in or stocks are sold.
... Or something like that. I'm still planning.
Will I still be buying HIVE?
Quick answer: Yes
Longer answer... Yes, but I haven't figured out exactly how I'm going to do it yet. Still, I'll be curious to see how much HIVE these accounts end up with by the end of the year.
Easier Record Keeping

WeBull Account Holdings
Stocks Held

Note
At the moment I am doing this internally to see how well the system works. The accounts listed are under my control and I'm moving the money internally so I can see how things would work if I were to do it with non-arms length individuals. A sandbox so to speak.
My goal is to have a notional link between FIAT investments and CRYPTO investments.
My crypto.com account funds WeBull
My
account claims ownership of the money by distributing GLD to cro.gld and crovisa.gld
The
account accepts GLD from other accounts to give virtual "ownership" of stock in the account.
If it proves useful I see if I can make things available to other people. If it is too much work or has hidden pain points, well, at least I figure it out internally before I offer it to others :)
Final thought?
I'll likely "sell" the GLD tokens provided by to buy HIVE so that my CRO investments will still be adding to Hive each and every week. It will be interesting to see how that works :)
