I Had A Nice Time Today// Be Frugal Not Stingy

Being around people who want to see our growth and progress in life is the best thing that can happen to anyone in this life. I want to say a very big thank you to Hive account@terganftp for this great opportunity given to me. I must confess that you have been a very good source of motivation to me. Msy God reward you richly. This is my first time participating in this community. I am already feeling so excited to be here.

Quickly let me go into the main business of the day.

The Cost Of Internet In My Country

Data is one of the basic things that keeps one running on the internet, down here in Nigerian we have four basic SIM (Subscriber Identity Module) cards namely MTN (Mobile Telephone Network), GLO (Global Communication Limited), AIRTEL ( Affectionate Interested Respectful Tolerant Energetic and Loving) and 9Mobile formery known as ETISALAT (Emirates Telecommunication Corporation. These are the four networking service in Nigeria.

Each of them has their own data service which varies based on the vendor. Although data is said to be very expensive but there are platforms that provide cheap and affordable ones that can still serve us to some great extend depending on how we use it.

I am using MTN and I often use mobilenig.com for my data subscription and it serves me pretty well but most people complain that it doesn't last for them. On this platform the data is classified into two, we have Sme (Small And medium size enterprise) and Gifting.

I often go for the Sme because it is affordable and always serve me for my work. Gifting is quite more expensive but durable. These options are only on MTN other network service Only have Gifting .Unfortunately, they don't have any for ETISALAT. My favorite package is 2gb.

I think this is all I can say about Data for now.

How I converted The HBD I Received

I don't always have issues when it comes to converting HBD into my local currency because the person who introduced me to hive always helps me out. Often times I transfer the HBD to his Hive wallet whenever I have need and he send the money to me in our local currency.

So for the seven ( 7) HBD I Received, he exchanged each for me at the rate of Four Hundred and Fifty Naira (450) that makes it three thousand one hundred and fifty Naira (3150).

What I Learnt From The Service

Honestly, I wish the service never came to an end, I received revelation that I never expected from the word. God bless his servant.

The topic was: The Nature And Mission Of The Church. The text was taken from the book of Matthew 16:13-20

It's a long reading so I am only going to summarize it, Jesus was with his disciples and asked them whom men say he was, they gave him different answers, then is brought the question back to them and asked who do the disciples now say he is and peter responded saying he is the Christ of God.

After that convmfesdion, Jesus then said, upon this rock I will build my church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

The word church was the idea of Christ and not of any man. He was the first person to mention it in the new testament. The church is not an organization, it is not an institution and it is not a building as most of us supposed it, the church is the assembly of the called out people of God , therefore, the called out people of God makes up the church and not the building.

The church is a family of imperfect people whom God has called to himself to make perfect. As such you can still find men who are capable of causing offence to others. We are supposed to love the church regardless. The Church is the only gathering that doesn't practice discrimination. It takes individuals from any where regardless of race, tribe and so on.

It is very wrong to be preoccupied by the physical building and forget what God is really doing in the church which are his people. Even though the building is important but that is not the church, it is s mere structure.

The church was created by God for these purposes
1 . To show forth his glory
2 . For the good of the people
3 . For the good of the city
4 . For the good of the family

The church was Jesus ' idea whosoever doesn't agree with the church doesn't agree with christ. The church didn't just emerge from nowhere, it is God's sovereign plan for the nations. He establishes the church and called out his people so that they can impact the world.

** Few More Things To Know About The Church**

• Jesus is the builder of the church, it is all unto to him to do the building and the perfecting and not unto us. We are just fellow or co-workers with Jesus in the building process. The church of God is not of any man. (1 Corinthians 3:2-9)

• When Jesus said upon this rock I will build my church and the gates of hades shall not prevail against it, he was not referring to peter as the rock. He was referiy to himself through the answer peter gave him, saying you are the Christ of God, Christ our corner stone and not peter. ( Mathew 16:18, Ephesians 3:19-20)

• There's only one true church of God. The church of God is one, there maybe many churches in the world, bearing different names in different parts of the world but they are not different churches, they are part of that one body of Christ. The church is one Whether it be a big assembly or small assembly all over the world, if it be of God we are one. (Ephesians 4:4-6)

• When it is said that catholic is the universal church, it doesn't mean Roman Catholic church, what it means is that the church is one Holy Church. The church is holy because of the workings of the holy spirit upon it.( Revelation 5:9-10)

• The church is apostolic, the early church was built by the apostles, the word apostle in Greek means sent one. The apostles were sent by God to reach out to others with the good news. It was saddled with the responsibility of going about bringing men unto to God. (Acts 2:42-43)

The purpose of the church

The primary reason why God created the church is to show forth his glory. The glory of God means God's splendor, majesty and beauty (1 peter 2:9-12, Genesis 12:2-3)

There are four ways through which the glory of God is shown or displayed

1 . Through creation ( nature)
2 . Christ

1. His word
   4 . His people.

The longer one spends with God, the more the glory of God is displayed through that life, the more we stay with the Lord, the more of his glory we carry, the more we will continue to glow and it can't be hidden, the earth will definitely see it. As we lift God and forget about ourselves making him number one in our lives, we will glow with his glory and that glory will draw men unto him(God) . The glory is not ours no matter how much of it we carry but it is his. It is never about us but Him.

My verdict concerning the sermon

Like I said earlier on, I wished the service didn't come to an end, I don't think I have anything contrary to the message passed, infact I got introduced into new things especially on the part of upon this rock I will build my church. I was among those thinking that rock was peter, thanks be to God I got clarity today.

For The Meal

I don't really know how to prepare a very good meal, so I decided to go out and get some. Since it was afternoon I had the service, I got beans porridge, some meat and bread from a local restaurant. Yeah! I love beans and bread so much.

Because of the distance I had to use bike, previously, it cost only hundred naira(100) but due to the fuel subsidy removal, now it's one hundred and fifty Naira (150). To and fro that costs three hundred naira (300).

For the food the beans and the meat, I got three pieces of meat, all cost Four Hundred and Fifty Naira(450) then I got one bread which cost hundred and twenty naira (120) the reason was because I didn't want to buy what I wouldn't finish. I searched for whom to share the meal and the service with and no one seem to show interest though a friend promosed to join me online next time if he has free time because he currently at school and lectures are much.

Miraculously just when I was about to start feasting on that delicious meal, a friend of mine Hive account@barnabas20 called and asked if I was home. Well, he came around, I had to go and get extra bread so that it can serve us both. There's a shop near buy, I went there and the only bread available was that of hundred naira(100), it's two pieces we wished we had a bigger one but since it was not available, we went for the one around.

For data, I made 2gb subscription for five hundred naira (500) and it was enough for me to watch both the program and the music and a good amount is still remaining

So all in all, what I spent was just one thousand four hundred and seventy naira (1,470)

What I think Can Be Done To Improve This Community

For now the only thing on my mind is making a general topic provision so that anyone can participate. Maybe a topic can be given for everyone to share their opinion . It can be pinned in the community so that anyone who visits can easily see it. It can be weekly for a start.
