With the changes and development in technology, buying and selling has become very swift and stressfree. From the comfort of the home, one can purchase almost anything from anywhere in the world and have it delivered them in short time.
I've made a number of purchases, the last was this pair of white Nike canvas I got from an online store, Jumia. Was a seamless process.
Nowadays, it's so easy to purchase anything. Although there's been series of bad service, one of which, we here, Nigerians, have tagged as "what I ordered vs what I got." It's a kind of situation whereby the item a person orders and recieves is different from the image he had seen online. I know a number of people who had been in that corner, one of who iss a friend that ordered this electric lantern. It looked like a bedside lamp, really beautiful but when it arrived, it was the size of a finger. Really small. In the case of my friend, she had failed to check the description and also read reviews from the page, of people who had purchased the item. It's a similar case for most other people.
There are various sites to buy from like Jumia, Amazon, 1688, Shein, Konga, AliExpress and so on. These, I believe are international brands. These are verified sites that deliver within few weeks of placing the order. They have the options of picking up at their company branch warehouse in your state of residence or doorstep delivery. The latter attracts extra fee in addition to the normal shipping fee.
There are still other methods of getting stuff online like from social media vendors and marketplaces. These ones take shorter time to deliver your goods. If they're in same state as you are, delivery can happen that day or the next but if in a different state, delivery may take 3-5 working days.
With these ones, there's the option of payment on delivery, vendors within same state are more prone to accept this method. Then those outside the state may not readily accept that as some customers can play a fast one. In social groups and marketplaces, the most method applied for shopping is using a trusted person or an admin as an escrow. That way, there are no fast games and deceitful transactions.
...........................................................................
I've used all of the above mentioned services. But, I have never purchased food online. I'm not certain I have that patience enough for it to get delivered. I'd rather visit the restaurant myself. I've been around people who do though. I should mention that almost every item from food, wears, tech, electronics, household furnitures, sport gears, beverages, kiddies supply, fashion accessories and almost anything you can think of is available online.
In most cases though, depending on what I am getting, I'd rather visit a walk-in store and make my purchases. Reasons as wanting to get a feel of the quality of the item, realizing an item is sold at a cheaper price and a few other reasons make me visit physical stores.
But nowadays, people barely stress in gettung commodities. People have also taken advantage of the media space and brought their businesses online. And so watever your interest is, it's just a message/call away. Almost everyone has had an online shopping experience. I should mention that electronic transfer is mostly the means by which these transactions are done. Hardly do people pay in cash.
My experiences shopping online have mostly been good with one or two misgivings. I just enjoy the comfort of the easy buy. It's cool.
And hey, , I write again. An interesting topic. So here's the most I could tell about online shopping and my experience.
