First, I will like to talk about the meaning of transportation and be best explain in short form as means of moving from a place to another either by road, air, rail, water and so on since we have different means of transportation.
Transportation has been a means of survival to all living things right from beginning as we are meant to move from one place to another in searching for comfort and other ways to survive.
Like I said earlier that we have different means of transportation such as road, air, rail and water transportation respectively but I will like to talk more about the one am actually get used to and which is the road transportation.
Over a long time, the cost of fuel have always been the deciding factor of the cost of transportation, though sometimes it actually depends on your destination or the kilometers you're traveling to, but irrespective of that fuel cost has been the major deciding factor regarding the cost of transportation.
Due to recent fuel subsidy removal in my country which has caused an increase in price of the cost transportation. The tricycle wish is called Keke Napep or maruwa in my state has been a reliable means of transportation within my capital state and other towns for some years and also bikes but the emergence of tricycle have dominated the taxi 🚕 due to low cost of transportation as you can board tricycle as low as #30 (0.038) then until it was later moved to #50 (0.063) per drop.
But right now the cost of boarding tricycle is high due to factor. The first factor is the cost at which the tricycle is now sold because right now you can't get a new tricycle without having a millions of naira upward unlike before when it is very cheap as you can get a new tricycle then as low as three hundred thousand naira upward. But what really makes the price of new tricycle to become expensive is due to the high demand and the issue of hired purchased as the buyer have to pay a certain amount either weekly or monthly until the total amount of the tricycle is completed. This where the issue of higher cost of transportation started and the second factor is the issue of fuel price in my country which always increase every year.
Right now, the lowest amount you can board tricycle is #100 ($0.129) and that is if you're going to short distance as tricycle now charge #150 (0.19) and #200 ($0.25) respectively per drop which is really becoming alarming.
Due to higher charges from tricycles, bikes, cars and buses, the best thing that one can do is to buy the fuel no matter the cost to filled up either of your bike, tricycle or cars respectively instead of taking commercials means of transportation. Due to high cost of fuel and expensive transportation, one of my brother have to bring out the bike in which he has abandoned for years and repair it because it will be best to have your own means of transportation than to depend on commercial transportation as that is the best way to save one a cost.
I have make sure to watch my movement and afford unnecessary spending regarding transportation. Instead of wasting money, I prefer to take a walk if the distance is trekkable as I see that as way to keep myself fit and save money as well. Since transportation has now become more expensive, I prefer to only travel if it deem important instead I will have to sort it out on the phone.
