...in other words, we slept one hour less last night... yay 😃
...
(wrong emoji... this is what actually had to come 😒)
When spring comes, we can look forward to many nice things {I will let you know about all those benefits a bit later but I have to rant a little}. Right now I feel sleepy and my eyes are not very happy with the fact that it is everything so bright and shiny outside, and in the living room too - it has a whole-wall glass sliding door that allows all the Spanish sunshine to enter. Life is good and full of possibilities so I indeed have two options. The first is to put on sunglasses and the second is to close the shutters of the window and of my eyes... which would make me sleep another little siesta. One hour was robbed from our resting part of the day and the morning came too quickly. That additional zzzzziezta would come zzzzuper...
Ok, the complaint part of the post ends here, with the probability to fall back into some tiny rant during the rest of the positive part of the post {lol}. The very positive side of this writing is that spring has arrived a few days ago. It was Thursday when through a talk with a student we figured out that the season already changed, to that one which brings more life and colours, bees, and flowers and all of that springy things, you know. It was also very visible at my work this morning, as there were more flowers in the glass bowls all around. I went close to a little statue to consult how one can be more effective in many fields at the same time. There I took a seat while waiting for him to wake up and talk and in the meantime made a photo of the flower decoration. Finally, I heard the voice:
Do you want a drink or something? What can I serve you?
It was a tall, well-dressed young man, apparently offering me a drink. It would be maybe the most interesting part of this post, but the reality is that it was just the barman who made the same question to others too, who were chilling there after breakfast and waiting for the taxi after checking out from the hotel. I think I heard a similar offer sometime later today, so I had no choice but to take at home a little glass of herbal liqueur, with a few drops of lemon.
Herbs. Yes, they are starting to grow now and that is one of those benefits of spring I promised at the beginning of the post to mention. Everything becomes greener and the trees will finally decorate their branches. I had a very good friend during my studies who liked to call this colour Benetton Green. It was our invented thing many years later, to search for baby leaves and send a photo of them to each other. I will do it with these two photos, as a reminder of how more than two decades passed but green leaves still grow every spring!
As another sign of spring, we can see that bees and little bugs are getting active. Yesterday afternoon, while we were in the mountain I looked around to see where all those subtle buzzing were coming from. One creature was found, he was taking a rest from his crazy flight. My head is spinning a bit now hahaha. 😂
Wrong photo... so this one, for the bumblebee:
It is not a discovery, the blooming fruit trees, I know. They are now in every corner, announcing to us that cherries, oranges and almonds will come in some months. For now, we have just the flowers that have a really good scent. If there is anyone who wants to smell their scent, here they come. Just move a bit closer to the screen...
The orange blossom.
Almond tree blossom.
Were the green leaves, bees and bumblebees, and flowers nice? I bet they were! However, it is not all that spring can bring. This morning, even before the alarm woke me up I heard the chirping of birds. There are a lot of blackbirds at the place where we live and they usually sing happily in the dawn. But the little rant is coming now back - they are fast and no way I could make a photo of them! No visual presentation can come to round up this post... but, there is always a but! I know how we can hear them, and many other things that a spring can show us. Headphones or speakers would be needed now, as music is on the stage. Antonio Vivaldi - Spring, one of the violin concerts from The Four Seasons.
This video explains so nicely what those sounds could represent, and the musicians indeed do it very well. We also hope that it was what Vivaldi wanted to transmit to us with this piece.
