Why doesn't this woman play the flute?
As a ritual that repeats itself every Sunday, my husband says these words after bringing my piano into our home. If he didn't say these words, I would worry - maybe he is not feeling well and forgot to say this magic phrase? 🤔
Then we laugh (some in their cross and some of us watching as my instrument arrives home without my effort to carry it up the stairs), but I know, there is truth to it. Some instruments are easier to transport, it is true, although my instrument case with little wheels I bought some years ago,Voyager, helps a lot to transport the piano you see in the previous picture, mostly everywhere I need it (if the place can be reached by car).
But what if you could carry your musical instrument everywhere, literally everywhere around the world? You could travel by plane with your instrument, pretending it was personal luggage. Wouldn't that be wonderful? Something like this:
Yes! Definitely yes!
It is time to leave my musical instrument behind and choose another, more convenient for transportation. After the oboe and the violin, my next instrument could be none other than the one on which Rhapsody in Blue by George Gershwin sounds best. Or some jazz standards and soundtracks that can be combined with the piano, but in the majority of cases I want to travel and take my instrument with me, I would just pick (and pack) 😆 the one you see resting on the keyboards:
The clarinet.
Who would guess that!?
You may not remember, but a long time ago I tried to quit the piano and choose another instrument for myself. Every time it ended up as a joke, it was just a challenge here on Hive. I had fun making those posts, even though they were always jokes, and they ended with saying that it can't be true, but this time it's true. You see, the clarinet is here in my room and my neighbours have already started to get used to this new sound.
I can't reveal which tunes have been practised today, but if you are curious and want to listen to them, then I kindly invite you to come to Hive Open Days in Alicante. In less than two months, and a little more than a month, exactly on the first day of May, some interesting songs will be heard at the meetup. 🎶
Oh, wait!
My hand looks a bit different! What happened? 😱
Am I not the one holding this clarinet? Who is it then?
You are free to guess the person who came to the city I live in to spend a weekend and practice for the Hive Open Days with me (kudos to her, really, for making such a trip for these rehearsals). Tomorrow we will continue with the rehearsals and get more tunes ready! :)) And my post once again finishes with the same phrase regarding changing my piano for any other instrument... It can't be true! 😉
