Just talking about my Cuba... in a song -about this wonderful land where I was born, where I grew up and where I do not intend to leave- is something that always moves me and brings tears to my eyes. It is a recurring theme in my compositions. The sea, the spectacular weather, the warmth of my people, our beautiful music with African and Spanish roots giving way to a unique mix, this is the magic that will always vibrate in my heart... beyond the idleness and politics.
In this song I try with humility to summarize this feeling, my immense joy and pure state of the soul at the moment of its creation and the sincere gratitude to the Universe for the great gift of being born and continue living my days in this ''Holy Land". Title of this piece that closes my author's album
"Mariposas de papel" -from the Lodepiñol project- in a solo version for piano and voice... and I count with the beautiful participation of the new singer Rita Donte and the excellent piano accompaniment of my friend Maestro Rolando Luna.

Holy Land
Fill yourself with the seed
of this holy land
open yourself to the wonder
of this city.
There will always be those who fight
who fights
There will always be those who dream
who stays
and who leaves.
If in the moon is reflected
your sailing ship
it is the sailor's time
to return.
There will always be those who fight
who fights
There will always be those who dream
who stays
and who leaves.
Look at the sea...
it looks like your eyes
when they see
that luck in children
who fuss wisely
and at full speed
save the day
Look at the sea...
how the waves speak to you
that when they return
they give you songs
that they sang
in the nights of love
the troubadours.
