La Pandemia del Virus Covid-19 , como ironía de la vida, me ha permitido estar más cerca de mi Heroína, y compartir con ella una mayor cantidad de tiempo, tiempo de calidad.
The Covid-19 Virus Pandemic, as an irony of life, has allowed me to be closer to my Heroine, and share with her a greater amount of time, quality time.
Al mismo instante de conocer de la pandemia, decidí traer a mi madre a vivir a mi hogar, y junto a los demás miembros de mi familia, hemos aprendido a sobrellevar con paciencia todos estos días de Cuarentena.
As soon as I heard about the pandemic, I decided to bring my mother to live in my house, and together with the other members of my family, we have learned to patiently endure all these days of quarantine.
Mi madre tiene hoy en día 85 años de edad, aún está muy fuerte, y gracias a Dios goza de muy buena salud.
My mother is now 85 years old, she is still very strong, and thank God she is in very good health.
Ella extraña mucho su casa, y la ciudad dónde ella vive, a pesar de que mi casa está ubicada en la ciudad contigua, a solo quince minutos en vehículo.
She misses her home very much, and the city where she lives, even though my house is located in the next town, only fifteen minutes away by car.
La mayoría del tiempo, mi mamá, lo pasa disfrutando de su hamaca. A veces descansa escuchando el alegre cantar de las aves, y en otras ocasiones realiza una buena lectura . Allí lee sus revistas favoritas ¡Tiene una vista mucho mejor que la mía!
Most of the time, my mom, she spends it enjoying her hammock. Sometimes she rests listening to the happy singing of the birds, and other times she does a good reading. There she reads her favorite magazines. She has a much better view than I do!
Su rutina diaria incluye un corto paseo por nuestro pequeño jardín, y una parada para recoger algunas cerezas, que caen de la mata de uno de nuestros vecinos.

Mi madre siempre ha estado en movimiento, le gusta mucho viajar. Ella nos ha acompañado, en la mayoría de nuestros viajes familiares, a visitar varios estados de Venezuela.
My mother has always been on the move, she likes to travel a lot. She has accompanied us, in most of our family trips, to visit several states in Venezuela.
Le expliqué con mucha tristeza, que era necesario detener las movilizaciones y permanecer en la casa, por un periodo largo de cuarentena. También le expliqué que ella se encuentra dentro de la población de mayor vulnerabilidad y riesgo al contagio, de esta peligrosa y terrible enfermedad. Lo entendió todo muy bien y sabe que el quedarse en casa, es para preservar su salud.
I explained to her, with much sadness, that it was necessary to stop the mobilizations and to remain in the house, for a long period of quarantine. I also explained to her that she is among the most vulnerable and at risk population to this dangerous and terrible disease. She understood everything very well and knows that staying at home is to preserve her health.
Estos meses y días de cuarentena, los he aprovechado para agradecer a mi madre, todos sus sacrificios, esfuerzos y todo el amor que ha dedicado a criarnos, a educarnos y a formarnos como seres humanos decentes.
These months and days of quarantine, I have taken advantage of them to thank my mother, all her sacrifices, efforts and all the love she has dedicated to raising us, educating us and forming us into decent human beings.
Nosotros, como hijos e hijas , nunca podremos retribuir todo lo que una madre hace por nosotros. Sin embargo, sé que estos momentos al lado de mi madre compartiendo pequeñas alegrías. Hablando de todo un poco y recordando esas anécdotas, que todos tenemos, y que siempre nos hacen reír, le llena el corazón más que cualquier otra cosa.
We, as sons and daughters, can never repay all that a mother does for us. However, I know that these moments at my mother's side Sharing little joys. Talking about everything a little bit and remembering those anecdotes, which we all have, and which always make us laugh, fills her heart more than anything else.
Tengo la esperanza de hacer en el futuro, un nuevo viaje junto a mi madre, y visitar otra vez, al pintoresco pueblito de Caripe en el Estado Monagas.
I hope to make another trip with my mother in the future, and visit again, the picturesque little town of Caripe in Monagas State.
Espero que, luego de superada la pandemia, todas las madres, en especial las de la tercera edad, sigan recibiendo muchas más alegrías y aún mucho más cariño y amor.
I hope that after the pandemic is over, all mothers, especially those of the elderly, will continue to receive much more joy and even more love and affection.
