Can you tell the difference between Stalactites and Stalagmites? I always get confused before as one thing is for certain: both can be found majestically in caves.
But then I had always admired them that I did managed to work out the confusion. Stalagmites are mounds or tapered columns that rise from the cave floor/ground (the g in stalagmite stands for ground), whereas stalactites originate from the ceiling of a cave. (The letter c in stalactites represents the ceiling).
