Have you seen one of thess Cassava blooms in your place?or I might ask is there cassava planted in your place?
Form where U am now, there's a lot of casaava planted near me and there are at least two varieties that are common. The traditional yellow casaava and the Thailand. (i got no luck ingetteing answers on who named it after a country) but i guess Thailand is the origin ot this kind of cassava
Typically, yellow cassava are edible, ad sweet. But the Thailand variety is white, pale to be exact, and tastes bitter when cooked. Its a feed grade cassava.
I remember once, we scrape the cassava to make a steamed cassava cake, stemed cassava cake(puto) using a milk can and a coconut shell.
In doing so, the cassava must be dried first by wrapping it in a cloth, mostly a flour sack and is squeezed by getting it under a flat wood and a heavy object.
Once cooked, some might insert caramelised coconuts inside it for additional sweetness and taste
My father in law asked us to work on the land he is currently working on. Because he is planning to go to his birth place for some time soon. He asked us to plant cassava and my mother is willing to give us stalks to plant. I pray God will guide us during this journey and will bless us with His merciful hands.
For now, my father in law does not trust my husband in doing so. I hope he will not get through us when we do our thing in tha land.
Funally our prayer to have a land to plant crips finally came. We used to lease a portion of land in Valencia but it didn't work so well. I guess its the distance that caused a great barrier to our success. The five year contract has already expired last year and I hope the woman we leased from will give us the money back so we can use it elsewhere. My sister, who is in the area, now she is tiling the land that we leased, said that this month hopefully the money will be given back.
I remembered the time we gave the money to them once.. She was happy yo hokd the money and asked her son if there us still cock fighting at that time. I guess her reason for leasing and selling thier land in the mountains are just vanity and gambling. A very shallow reason to lose their property
