Se qualcuno con interesse mi domandasse «Ti piace volare?» penso che ingenuamente risponderei con i versi della celebre canzone «Oh, Oh! Nel blu dipinto di blu!».
Ormai il volo libero di un essere umano non solo è possibile senza ricorrere a mezzi meccanici ed a sofisticati motori, ma viene praticato perfino come una affascinante attività sportiva, seppure lievemente temeraria.
Il lancio dai declivi posti a notevoli altezze rappresenta per gli appassionati solo l'inizio di una avventura tra le nuvole che consente di osservare dal cielo straordinari paesaggi naturali costituiti per lo più di paradisi marini e spiagge incantevoli.

Ritengo che per volteggiare nell'aria, giocando a fare gli angeli senza ali, oltre alla grande vela “pilotata” attraverso i “freni aerodinamici” o i cosiddetti “fasci funicolari”, occorra una buona condizione fisica ed una certa preparazione, ma a coloro che possono assistere comodamente da terra, basta sollevare leggermente lo sguardo per ammirare una epifania di colori spettacolari, per apprezzare il gesto atletico dei “paragliders” ed allo stesso tempo per contemplare anche lo scenario nel quale si svolgono le originali esibizioni.
