Ancient foreshortening - watercolor on paper

Hello all dear Hivers friends and welcome back to my blog. Today I am sharing my latest watercolor depicting an ancient glimpse of the historic center of my city of Roman origin. I started by depicting the foreshortening of the photo where the main element is a Roman column from the 1st century BC.

This is the starting painting where I painted the shadows to give the volumes to the scene.

With violet I started to give the shadows at the base of the column and defined the Roman pavement more.

Then I darkened the buildings behind the column, painting with both violet and brown.

Finally I reinforced the color of the sky with cerulean blue.

This is the final result and I hope you like it, I send you a Roman hug.

Scorcio antico - acquarello su carta

Ciao a tutti cari amici Hivers e bentornati sul mio blog. Oggi condivido il mio ultimo acquarello che rappresenta un antico scorcio del centro storico della mia città di origine romana. Sono partito dal raffigurare lo scorcio della foto dove l'elemento principale è una colonna romana del I° secolo a.C. Questo è il dipinto di partenza dove ho dipinto le ombre per dare i volumi alla scena. Con il violetto ho iniziato a dare le ombre alla base della colonna ed ho definito maggiormente la pavimentazione romana. Poi ho scurito i palazzi dietro la colonna, dipingendo sia con il violetto che con il marrone. Infine ho rafforzato il colore del cielo con il blu ceruleo. Questo è il risultato finale e spero vi piaccia, vi mando un abbraccio romano.
