Desert - watercolor on paper

Hello all dear Hivers friends and welcome back to my blog. My watercolor subject today is a landscape where the colors of the desert take center stage.

The starting point is this.

I decided to paint a deep blue sky (cold color) to act as a counterpoint to the many warm colors in the landscape. As you know yellow and blue are complementary colors to each other and give the greatest bright contrast, Van Gogh often used them in his paintings.

Then I painted the green foliage of the palm trees to balance the color composition.

The end result is this group of houses bathed in yellow that stands out against the blue of the sky.

Deserto - acquarello su carta

Ciao a tutti cari amici Hivers e bentornati sul mio blog. Il mio soggetto ad acquarello di oggi è un paesaggio dove i colori del deserto fanno da protagonisti. La base di partenza è questo. Ho deciso di dipingere un cielo blu intenso (colore freddo) per fare da contrappunto ai numerosi colori caldi del paesaggio. Come sapete il giallo ed il blu sono tra loro colori complementari e danno il massimo contrasto luminoso, Van Gogh li usava spesso nei suoi quadri. Poi ho dipinto le chiome verdi delle palme per equilibrare la composizione cromatica. Il risultato finale è questo gruppo di case immerse nel giallo che risalta sul blu del cielo.
