Light on the fortified castle - watercolors on paper

Hello everyone, dear Hivers friends, and welcome back to my blog. The painting I am sharing today is the result of my visit to the city of Gaeta on the Tyrrhenian Sea, in Lazio. I had the opportunity to admire an ancient castle that was converted into a fortification in the 1800s. This majestic building overlooks the sea and is an excellent example of a military fortification with solid towers.

I was inspired by the idea of depicting the castle with its warm colors that contrast beautifully with the cool tones of the sea. I tried to emphasize the power of the structure and the beauty of the area where it stands.

Luce sul castello fortificato - acquarelli su carta

Ciao a tutti cari amici Hivers e bentornati sul mio blog. Il dipinto che condivido oggi è il risultato di una mia visita alla città di Gaeta sul mar Tirrreno, nel Lazio. Ho avuto modo di apprezzare un antico castello trasformato in una forticazione nel 1800. Questa costruzione maestosa si affaccia sul mare e rappresenta un ottimo esempio di fortificazione militare con dei torrioni solidi.
Mi stimolava l'idea di rappresentare il castello con i suoi colori caldi che magnificamente contrastano con i toni freddi del mare. Ho cercato di enfatizzare la potenza della struttura e la bellezza del territorio dove sorge la costruzione.
