As you know, last summer I visited the island of Malta and I was fascinated by it. One of the most spectacular monuments is certainly Fort St. Elmo, which houses the War Museum.

Come sapete, la scorsa estate ho visitato l’isola di Malta e ne sono rimasta affascinata. Uno dei monumenti più spettacolari è sicuramente il Forte San’Elmo, che ospita al suo interno il Museo della Guerra.
This fortress was fundamental during the First and Second World Wars in the defense of Malta. You can understand its importance simply by observing its position: the Fort is located at the end of the peninsula where the capital, Valletta, stands, overlooking the sea.
The final architecture is the result of the work of the Knights of the Order of St. John, who repelled the Ottomans during the Great Siege in 1595, a military event that sealed the fate of Malta.
Questa fortezza è stata fondamentale nel corso della Prima e Seconda Guerra Mondiale nella difesa di Malta. Si può capire la sua importanza semplicemente osservando la sua posizione: il Forte si trova nell’estremità della penisola dove sorge la capitale, Valletta, affacciandosi a dirimpetto sul mare.
L’architettura finale è il risultato del lavoro dei Cavalieri dell’Ordine di San Giovanni, che respinsero gli ottomani durante il Grande Assedio nel 1595, un evento militare che segnò il destino di Malta.
The walls of Fort St. Elmo are surrounded by two large rows of cannons arranged in such a way as to be able to control access by sea from both sides of the island.
Fort St. Elmo can be visited all year round and from its walkways you can admire beautiful views of the capital Valletta and the Three Cities. You can't miss it!
Le mura di Forte Sant’Elmo sono circondate da due grandi file di cannoni disposti in modo da poter controllare l’accesso via mare da entrambi i lati dell’isola.
Forte Sant’Elmo è visitabile durante tutto l’anno e dai suoi camminamenti è possibile ammirare dei bellissimi scorci sulla capitale Valletta e sulle Tre Città. Non potete perderlo!
